Gary.. You gotta please order up the old school 1967 turn signals and bib lights. They look much more retro than the newer 1976 and newer turn signals on those fenders.. I don't have the PN handy here at work but the bib and fender lights are avail new still. The bib are easily converted to an 1157 turn and park.

Original brass replacement radiator with cap moved and steam line removed. Welded #6 fittings in for tranny cooler.

I thought about the older stuff and will probably go with the old lights on the bib also, but with winch and other stuff you may not be able to see them. I am not crazy about the newer style lights but this truck is so bast**dized at this point I figured what the crap.

Garth we are friends, and I talked to Kelly about it, and the only way I would do that is for you to throw in the wife...... This is where Kelly started having a problem.

You know, Janae left for Indiana on February 11th. She wont be back until February 16th.

I took vacation from work to stay home with my three kiddos...yes, those three kiddos (thanks to you Kristi Baker-Barlow for hooking Kade on sweets at the age of two...that little ball rolled straight down-hill.)

Anyway, I've had a lot of time to Cruise the net...IH8MUD specifically. I'd really appreciate if Gary would put the same amount of effort into this thread as I do into checking back on it.

That is all.

I thought I saw a really good looking woman in Middlebury the other day... might've been her.... or not. When are you coming this way? Luke

Lots more wiring done today. Same pics. Its unbelievable how much crap you can cut out of an 80 harness if you are not using ABS, Cruise, and the factory AC. Not to mention the 4 doors with all of the electrical in them. Another 50 lbs lost today.
Sounds like you have your hands full this week Garth.
Texican, I may go the early marker light route, just haven't made up my mind yet.

Hey! Happy Anniversary!
(Well, two days ago)

Looks great! Where's the body?

More wiring before and after.

Another of the fan system. I used a fan from a 99 Crown Vic Police car. Its 19" and fits with a 3/8 gap inside the 80 series shroud. 75A Bosch relay for fan control. Wired through switch either ign on or thermostat control.

The last for today is the cooling expansion tank. It is 3" higher than the highest part of the cooling system and is the system bleeder and overflow tank. With this installed the system burped and bubled for about 45 minutes until it finally settled down. I was a little worried at frst because of the bubbles and the possiblity of a HG blown, but it cleared itself up after a while. Fans still never came on.

Steve, I must have smoothed off the part number when I was cutting off the mounting tabs, but I think its F5AZ8C607B. The fan bolts onto the fan shroud of a 98-00 Crown Victoria police car for extra cooling. Here is a link to one on eBay. The large rectangular shroud is not part of the fan. You can see where the fan bolts up to that shroud. Mines used at about $40.

so, that fan mounts ahead of a belt-driven fan on the Crown Vic? it's actually 19" in diameter? cool! how deep/thick is it?

looks like a good option when you want to make your own shroud instead of trying to mod the Mark VIII fan.

Steve

Um,

That burp tank is where the blower is supposed to go....

You know you want one.......;)

I did that intentionally so I wouldn't get one. OOOPs.

Still in the paint shop. Heres a couple of progress shots. I decided to paint the hinges also so it wouldn't look to Smokey and the Bandit. The dash looks awesome with all the holes welded up and the upper smoothed out. No ashtray, etc. Today was priming and sanding. My buddy said he would get some color on it tonight, so I will be up late I'm sure.
