Smoetimes I wish I was not such a hack :D

Amazing Job..

Looks great Gary..........if I did not know I was gonna need lots of your help on my 80 Buggy , I'd share 4 or 5 of the stupid phone questions I have gotten over course of the build....chrome headlight rings............:D :D :D

I'm going to insist on some high quality pics of this truck at CM2006.

I will then pick my favorite and have a poster made of it.

I admit my ignorance about the 40s and 45s. I bought this truck dissasembled, am missing some stuff, and just need a little guidance once in a while. I am a little embarrased about the headlight bezel thing though, that was just brain fart. I thought there was a chrome bezel around the headlights and the factory large bezel fit around that. I do appreciate the help on all the little stuff though and I'm sure there will be more stupid questions coming, so be ready. Texican, If I had known you better when I built my 62, you would have had your fill of stupid questions on it also :)

Fenders are going to be color matched LineX and will have to be done after the body is on.

As far as difficulty goes, putting a big block in the wagon with other assorted parts was relatively easy. All the wagon stuff was already done. Pretty much just unbolt, refinish and bolt back up. The mechanicals wasn't that bad either. The 45 project is 100 times the work because you have to think. I took a shot of the underside of the bed today for the hell of it. It looks great and now wish that I had done the wagon this way also.

I picked up the body parts from LineX Monday and started to do the initial assembly. The paint and body work came out so so as well as the LineX, but I am ready to get it done so its going together anyway. I will have the small stuff fixed after its done. The tub is not sitting all the way down on the mounts yet but it still looks good so I thought I would post a pic.
I am using a dual circuit cooler for tranny and PS and need to get that installed and wired before I get to far along on setting the body. So with that and getting the doors to the paint shop and picking up the headlight buckets from the platers, I will have a busy day.

Beautiful truck Gary! Getrdone!

Probably one of the coolest build ups ever! I can't wait to see it at CM06! What creature comforts are you planning on installing once you get to that point?

Looks great!

Rezarf <><

Air conditioning and heat, comfy bench seat, no tunes for now. I may add something later, but it seems that the older I get, the less I care about music in my trail rig.

I got a lot done today, Body is down on the mounts, brake booster and pedal mounted, AC evaporator mounted and lines made, Steering column mounted and hooked up, Air compressor mounted behind seat on rubber isolated mounts and ran errands for half the day. I'm done. Pics tomorrow. OK maybe 1
