Careful, I know a guy that has guns.....and lots of ammo. He doesn't fly helicopters either.

Yes, I saw him in the mirror this morning.:D

I went by and checked on the body and showed up as it was coming out of the tank. All I can say is unbelievable. The body is stripped to bare metal with almost no rust and 0 bondo. The parts look brand new. It is being primed in DP90 right now and tomorrow I will post up the pics. If you have never seen a 45 pickup body in bright brand new looking raw sheet metal, it truly is incredible. I wish I could just shoot clear on it and go with it. Oh yea, got the BBCS shocks. Way cool. 15" travel jobs.

Where are you getting the body stripping done? I've got a couple of axles and a "mini" frame that need some cleaning......

I use Metal Rehab in Arlington. 817.466.3362
The body is in the paint shop. Here is maybe the last pic before the body goes on. The 6" springs are on, 15" shocks on the rear, 13" on front, front hubs mounted for 2wd, most water line plumbing is done. I am making the template for the aluminum dash today. Got all the switches Friday. I will post more when I get back from the paint shop.

Looks great Gary!! Thanks again for the ride at the Jambo...I'll have to break my t-case again in order to hitch a ride on this one day! :D

Question: Are you worried about heating up your return coolant with it being so close to the exhaust?

 Cheers

UPS Matt

I don't figure much heat will transfer between the 2 but I can wrap the exhaust if need be. The ride was my pleasure, but you don't have to break to hitch a ride.

Got the PRP seat today from Rock Buggy Supply, and even though it came in the wrong color, they were great about expediting me the right seat cover. Scott seems to be a great guy.
The one one the right is the correct color.

You going to bring this to CM06??? I can't wait to see it in person!! I love everything about the build. Sorry if I missed it but did you end up going with Sage?

See ya thier hell or high water.....

Looking forward to seeing your rig and more importantly meeting the man behind some of the best built cruisers I have viewed on the net.

Sigh. What a letdown.

:D Actually the best part about Gary is that he doesn't go anywhere without Kelly!

Well here I sit waiting on the body shop. I started to layout the dash today and picked up some aluminum for the dash panel. It will run the length of the recessed part of the dash. Its kind of hard to see in the pics, but the gauges will be in the obvious position with 5 switches next to them, then the 2 AC vents, and then 5 more switches.I haven't decided on what to do with the glove box area yet. I decided to use labeled switches by 4x4mods.com to make everything uniform. The stock diff lock switch and center diff lock switch just didn't have a home in the dash look that I wanted. The AC vents are a bit bling, but they were the only aluminum ones that were tolerable and the right size. There will be 4 total 2 on the outsides of the dash. The gauges are a really cool 3 in 1 gauge using 2 housings to hold 6 gauges giving me extra room for shift indicator, turn signal, CEL, Brake, and high beam LEDS.

Today the 45 got synthetic fluids in the diffs and both tcases and installed a 02 sensor with a 02 fooler which used to be behind the cat. Not many pics as they would be redundant, but the dash is looking good so far. Tomorrow I will start cutting on it.

Worked on the dash panel all day today. I am thinking about painting it body color but grained and anodized is an option. The gauges turned out cool and below them there will be the 80 series idiot lights and shift indicator lights. The 2 things in the center are AC vents, switches to either side. I am not sure what to do about the glove box side yet. It was going to be a GPS, but it will have to wait. I have been $500 to death all ready on this project.

I believe that would be AAA card ?!?:D

Oh, look everybody, Gary's building ANOTHER Cruiser of which every single aspect is top-shelf, high-quality, pimptastic:grinpimp: stuff with just the right amount of bling. I wonder who will win Best Cruiser at CM06? Any guesses? Anyone?

You know, just once I'd like to see you roll up to an event in some POS beater!:flipoff2:

The thing is, anything Gary would consider a POS beater would still make our junk look like puke!
