damn that is awesome, i wish i knew how to do stuff like that. are you guys learning how to do this through trial and error or are you a mechanic? sorry for the hijack but if i start wrenching and experimenting its not gonna hurt my 60 to much is it? nice work tho.

Nah im no mechanic...Just a college kid that doesnt spend his money on alcohol.
That and I read just about everything I can about cruisers and how they work...mostly here on mud. ;) I dint know anything about vehicles about 4 years ago...I mean nothing. Picked up my first cruiser after saving for 2 years to get one at the age of 18 and its been all down hill since then...

damn that gives me confidence, im only 18 but ive got $3500 saved now for the cruiser. ive got a friend whos a mechanic doing some major work on it but next time i think ill try doing everything myself. i must say that im addicted to my cruiser. oh while im dribbling sh*t do you know what the standard tyre diameter is for an fj60 is?

Stock is somewhere around 29" but can fit 33" x 10.5" with a stock rig with some decent springs.

Well I have been doing some blue skying and it occured to me that I still have the front clip, grill, and lights from the 80 series. I held them up last night and they did not look to bad on the front. I will snag a pic of it then. I am still in love with the 60 series front clip though. So I think, I might just go with the 60's clip.....I will have to think about it some more.

It would be rather cool to have 80series front clip since it would reflect all the 80series parts done to it.

sweet progress man! your gonna need to find another driver for your two worthy trail rigs : )

I just got back from a week of surfing @ Folly beach in SC, hope someday I can make a trip to visit and bring my board : )

I think the 60 clip is the way to go on the V-wag buggy BTW, classy for sure.

Jeff,

I might skip out of work soon and hit the waves...You are more than welcome to come visit anytime. I hope you can make it GSMTR this year, My brother and I will be camped along the water about a mile down from trail 5. Ugh speaking of that trip I have to do another frame swap before I go but this time its on v-wag. It will be fun getting Wes's 40 on the trail, and am super stoked already for it.

GSMTR is in the cards for me this coming year... I'll just have to bring my kayak to run the Tellico while I am there. How tall will my 55 on 38's be with a yakima rack and my river boat on top:grinpimp: I'll have to watch the overpasses...

Glad to hear Wes's 40 is coming along... I bet he is stoked after the time he has into it.

The frame swap on the V-wag is due to rust issues or is it tweaked?

Both...I fixed most of the rust by welding new steel in the lengh of the inside frame, But the outter frame is still toast. Every wheeling trip out I tweek it a little more. Its always in the back of my mind. I think I am slowly becoming a perfectionist, I dont mind to much how the body looks as long as the frame and drivetrain are in good working order....and its nags the hell out of me about the frame. But I have a good one from the 62 and during a closer look the 62 frame is a little beefer and built a little better......Sooo under it goes. I am not looking forward to the swap at all. It will be the 3 frame I have taken out from a rig this year and im a little over it.

Awesome glad to hear you making it to GSMTR, I stayed at crawlfords the past couple of years and it is nice there but I no longer think its worth the 2 hours spent on trail 1 each day to get there and back. If you bring a kayak Ill bring my surfboard:D

I'll bring both and we find a park and surf spot... oh yeah, I'll also bring my kayaking helmet:grinpimp: kinda lik e diff protection for the noggin':D

I'll give ya a dollar to wear it all week on the trail:D

'hey anne-marie, do the interns get glocks?'

'they share one.'

Be still cody

im going to fight it, but ill let it live. what about my dynamite.

hey lowtide,
that pic with the body on looks like the longer wheel base of the 80 frame is going to be a problem. you just going to trim or what?
