Did you get a chance to clean out all the gunk from the 3fes smog equipment? I have yet to do it but I will be doing it shortly. I am just going to hammerlite the frame where I have to weld new spring perches onafter putting a thin coat over the orginal powder coat. Did you figure out what you are going to use on your frame yet? Thanks for the good words man...

Bumpity bump.

Updates?

Sorry, I was on vacation...but back in town tonight and should have more updates rolling on in.

Got the axles out and some more stuff unbloted ready for the engine swap. I hope to swap engines by next weekend. I plan on cleaning and painting the underbody of the 62 which I am sure wont be fun. I also have to cut the body mounts off the 80 series frame, prep and paint that. I cleaned the GA mud off the frame and the paint on the frame looked pretty good. (v-wag will be happy for a new one)

I am starting to have some of the tranny swap parts rolling in...

The speedo cable was off and I think some rain water may have ran down into the t-case. Aside from thats what I got done if the past few days. Its been hotter than all hell here. I have to keep a cloth over the tools or the get too hot to pick up.

Good to hear, I was gonna PM you to see if ya made it alive. I plan on pulling both 3fe's tomorrow...So, I will have some pictures to post up. Let me know when ya slap those axles under your 40.

This has got to be the slowest project ever!!!!! :flipoff2: :flipoff2:

What up Al? Been a while eh... I've been sortin' life out the past while... No more 60 for me. Ended up partin that sucker out. Got screwed moneywise of course, but I think I'm better off. No Cruiser for me these days, but I'm workin' on gettin' one.

Anyway, I'm jealous of your lil project. Looks like a blast and it's gonna be sweet when it's done. Now get back to work and keep the pics comin'!

Another project on the other side of the yard... Wes's Blue Water

As you can see the little lady posted up some pics...

I pulled the 80 series engine last night and plan on pulling the 62's tonight. After that I will roll the 80 series frame over and plop the engine on in. After the engine is bolted in I will get to work cleaning up the frame and get it ready to roll underneath the 62.

Problems so far besides the extreme heat... It looks like the 80 series P.S. box is leaking and I was planning on useing it. I am not sure if the bolt pattern matches up to use the 62 series or not. I also wonder how hard it is to seal the P.S. box back up. I am not sure what I am going to do yet.

P.s. Ferg, I was wondering a few days ago if you were still alive...you slacker. You better pick up another cuiser...I wish ya would have kept the blue box in storage...hasta bro, stay safe...

That a manual on the 3F?

How hard / heavy is that body to pull off the frame??? I will be doing that someday soon...My 60 is a rusty mess and will be swaping a less rusty 62 in its place...

That's gotta be a standard. Sweet build, extremely sweet build.

How hard is it going to be to locate the 60 series body mounts on the 80 series frame?

If you can bring your AC camping y cant u set it up at home? couple tarps...
keep yer wrenches in a pail of icy cool water, so nice

you guys r freaks;p

Mace, Not yet, But I have most of the parts either here or filtering in for the swap. (bell housing, flywheel, etcetc)

Calf60, Its not technical at all just a little bit of work. I did it with just a simple floor jack and high lift. At one point the borad broke I had underneath it and the body fell back on to the frame but it was only a couple inches up so it wasnt a big deal.
After that I went out and got that 8x8 preasure treated MF'r.

GLF,One of the body mounts almost match up but it puts the body too far back, So I have to fab all new ones.

And Kina yeah Im the freak, I've seen you dance:D We are all going wheeling this weekend and I will be brings the ac for the tent again:princess: ...Let me know if ya find any of those part brotha...Good luck with the 55

As for the truck so far. I have to swap out the engine mounts today so I can drop the engine on in. I pulled somthin nutty lifting the 62 series frame, So i gotta kinda take it slow til I feel a lil better. But after I drop the engine in I have to cut all the 80 series mounts off (fun:rolleyes: ) ,prep, paint and roll it under.
