Kelly, Really sorry to hear about your sister. My wife and I will remember to pray for her. Go take care of what's important and we'll meet up soon enough.

Hey Eric, The UPS man broke his back trying to get a package to my front door today. Thanks man! I'll get it mounted soon and take a pic to show your boys.

I've been bustin' my ass trying to get the wagon ready for this weekend. Getting about 4 hours sleep per night. I've still got a ton of work to do so I've gotta get back outside. Here's some pics of this weeks work...

Damn! Now we gotta worry about scratchin sheit!

;p

Only one pic I want to see tomorrow: windshield installed.

I'll be over about 7:30 to inspect it myself.;)

Thanks for the help today with the shop sign. Hopefully it will bring me some more business. This recession sucks.

my wife is fully impressed (so am I!!)

Gene,

You've been using up all your elbow grease and that is impressive. It's always easier to help someone who wants to help themselves! Looks great and cleaned up well.

See you Saturday.

Crunch time!

Just got home from Gene's. Boy he's got a lot to do tomorrow!

STARTING WITH THE WINDSHIELD!

We went thru the whole list and came up with two items still needed.

One set of manifold nuts and washers [12mmx1.25]that somehow disappeared since we took the engine apart, and...............

One set of 4 bolts to hold a 4 speed transmission to the belllhousing. This is one thing I am sure I am dead out of. I had to scrounge for the last 4 bolts to do FJ45dude's trans conversion.

DOES ANYONE HAVE SOME EXTRAS OF THESE BOLTS THAT IS COMING?

On another note, I had a serious conversation with someone today regarding keeping things safe and sane while all y'all are on my property. Thoughts.

1. There will be no consumption of alcohol until the work day has ended. I will be the final arbiter of when the work day has ended.

2. While we are all there to be productive and have a good time, the fact of the matter is that we are building a VEHICLE that is intended to be driven on the street, so everything we do MUST WORK properly. Those things that we do not have the resources to fix during the timeframe of the party will obviously not be addressed. But for those that are, they must be done competently.

a. If I ask you do do something and you're not sure, PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE to ask for assistance, an explanation, or defer to someone else. I've got no place for macho here.

b. If you see something that does not appear to have been done correctly, PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE to come ask me about it. Feel free to double-check other people's work. The more eyese the better.

c. If you are going to perform any activity which even POTENTIALLY involves the vehicle moving, even accidentally, YOU NEED TO INFORM each and every other person who is working on the vehicle at that point what you are doing to make sure EVERYONE is ALERT AT ALL TIMES! I would like one safey-oriented person [dhondagod and D'Animal come to mind for some reason] to be with the vehicle at all times keeping a general eye on things to spot potential conflicts between different groups BEFORE they happen.

d. NO ONE is to perform ANY action involving power tools, or ANY ACTIVITY UNDER THE VEHICLE without the use of safety goggles and gloves. NO ONE! Don't think you can be hurt just working with the frame? THIS is what I did this morning!

Please try to remember this BEFORE you shake my hand!

Other Random Thoughts

As a result of this conversation, I'm thinking I might have to get some kind of a waiver for y'all to sign. :hhmm:

Information still keeps changing by the hour, and I keep trying to roll with the changes. I still don't have an answer on the lot next door, so you may end up having to park your rigs down the street a ways from the shop.

I got a spigot setup from my dad's warehouse to take care of the water issues.

From what I've heard, there's gonna be a substantial amount of food on site. Mmmmm!

Got enough wood for two nights of campfire.

Calico's work truck with on-board generator is in place.

The renter in the front house will let us run an extension cord as well. I told him we would put out a can for recycling bottles and cans, and he would get a good exchange out of the deal!

Hope you have some help with the loading. That's a huge pile o stuff you've got to transport.

I'm thinking that since landcru/ownsexport is already in Chatsworth, and SOR is in Chatsworth, once Gene and I have run thru the list again, we may have Steve do a mercy run over to SOR for a few odds and ends.;)
