Coming along great Ryan! You’ll be ready for that donor hard top in no time.

@bluehawk what are you planning to do for fuel for the LS? Stock tank? Fuel cell in the bed? S10 tank underneath? Any insight would be welcome...Im trying to think ahead so I dont have to rebuild the same thing more than three times:)

Haven't gotten that far yet. Was thinking of making my own out of aluminum but not sure. I've even thought about a J**p fuel cell between the frame rails in the back.

Cool, thanks. I was thinking a TJ tank between the frame-rails or maybe a S10 tank, depends on how low it hangs down. I'll post up if I figure something out.

Been waiting to blast the frame ever since I stretched it twelve inches. Nice clean metal to weld on. Next is some etching primer.

You know you're getting old when you have to wear readers to Weld

So to box the frame where I extended it, I had to make my own c-channel. Welded up some 1/4" steel and then had a nice cold beer.

That is a helluva welding table you got there sir. What is that 1" plate? I bet that thing weighs a pound or 2

It only looks thick because the top is on 1" tubing. The actual top is 1/2" plate and is 4'x4', but yes it is a heavy bitch to move around

Little more work on Lockjaw today. One body becomes two. Didn't realize how easy it was gonna be to separate the body. Four bolts on both b-pillars, TIG welded at the tip and bottom that needed cut, and drilled out some spot welds that run from one side to the other on the bottom of the tub.

I need to look at this. I need to swap the back half of the tub on the 78. I have been trying to figure out how to facilitate it without having to do the full tub. This looks like the ticket.

Thank you for sharing

Got the frame section where it was stretched boxed in and welded up. Just had to put the freshly cut in half body on to see how its gonna look.

Yeah man, we need to swing back by.

From the B back the old 78 tub is all Dimond plate and i want to get it bsck to an actual tub. Got a 69 tub complete sitting and I want to swap it, but was really dreading the process. I didn't know they came apart right there, so this has now made it a much less daunting task that may actually happen.

Your fabricating skills still amaze me!

Coming along nicely.

Dang man, feel better. But let's be honest, its to d@mn hot to spend much time doing anything outside right now anyway, so stay cool and heal up

Man this is awesome Ryan. Enjoyed following your 60 build as well. Looking forward to seeing your progress on this one. Amazing work and can’t believe I just found this thread.
