All the flares are gone, and now all the holes in the roof are welded up. I cut out a bunch of small squares from a sheet of 16ga steel. Ill do the same with the fender flare holes.

That double sided tape is a pain in the ass!

In curious about the tape? Does it work well? I'm going to deflate and put liner on this summer. Could this tape get me out of a lot of bondo work?! Oh wait - the tape is just to hold your squares in place isn't it?

No, I'm talking about the tape that they use at the factory to hold down the bars for the roof rack. If you look at the picture of the roof you'll see the tape. It's annoying to remove, and I'm hoping a heat gun will do the trick...

Just read through the whole thread and I am heading this direction myself (minus all the beautiful welds)

I am impressed with the amount of articulation you have achieved. other than the medium OMEs and Bilsteins what other suspension mods have you done? (drop the arms at the frame, caster plates, panhards etc...)

Also do you know the part numbers of the Bilsteins and coils? Or extended length on shocks? I know you fabbed the mounts which I will be doing the same as loop configurations allow for a lot more drop and shock options.

I noticed you lengthened the swap bar links, are you running both front and rear on and offroad?

Now that you have her fully loaded did you have to add coil spacers to keep clearance over the 35's?

What an awesome build and thanks for all the great info in the thread it really helped in me a great deal in the decisions I've been confronted with.

I added some rubber spring spacers up front, but theyre only about 1/2". I bought them from Slee, you can find them on there website. The shocks are 12" 7100 short bodies, and other than that I havent done much else. I played with the front castor a bit, but that was it. It flexes great for what little Ive done to it.

All the fender flare and roof rack holes are done. I also put the new doors one, but the B pillar is bent in a little so i'll have to pull that out a bit. Almost done and I cant wait to get it painted and back to normal.

The 80 is back and running. Ive spent a LOT of time working on this truck making sure everything was done the right way. I welded all the holes and had the body shop fill and smooth them to a glass finish before a complete paint job was done.

I think it turned out great and I'm extremely happy to have my Cruiser back.

Thanks!!!

Ive taken this truck down some serious trails in the past, but now its going to be strictly a desert/hunting/fishing tuck. I spent 3 days on the Rubicon last week in my 4 runner. Its nice to have another rig to play in the rocks with.

Here's a few of the Runner just cause.... :steer::grinpimp:

Wow, looks great! Can't wait to do that to my rig. Oh, and you can throw more just because photos of that runner as far as I'm concerned.

Wow, beautiful job on restoring and cleaning up that 80! I'd really like to see more on of the rear bumper on the 4Runner.

Dude just checked out your 4runner build thread and you got fab skillz bro. Props good sir, you should open a Toyota off-road fabrication r&d shop.

Sent from this fast HTC thing using IH8MUD

Thanks man! I thought about it in the past, but its nice just doing this stuff on the side as a hobby. Gotta keep it fun!
