Motor is in! Now its time for the rad and other items to be mocked up for clearance checks. The axles will be next! We will be changing out the oil pan, and the intake, those items are both for mock up and to keep the dirt out! The plan is to have a really nice looking and performing old school SBC!

What year bib are you planning on running? I had the same MAF radiator setup in our 71 FJ40 and it interfered with the headlight buckets of the early 71 and older bibs. Made us push the radiator more towards the motor and only had 2" to the motor - no fan would fit with similar motor placement as you have.

Sold it and picked up a Champion 4 Row that bolted into the stock mount since we were not going to install a later model bib.

Looking good but better get moving.... You will have this on Pritchett May 2nd right...:D

Its normally how we roll, but not this time!!

mocking up the front components of the motor, we decided to upgrade all the components with a clear Powder coating to keep a clean and beautiful engine bay! We like to separate ourselves with things like this, of coarse beauty is in the eye of the beholder; Im obsessed with small details!

Fantastic idea.

It's one of the best things we did on our 40, and has made doing engine work later MUCH easier and cleaner. Everything just stays so nice and clean!

Ok, so the plan is to create a full float rear axle, centered for the Atlas 4speed. We will be using the Ruff stuff full float flanges to do so! We ordered the housings long so we could cut them down to the width we want. We will also have disc brakes in the rear and chromoly spindles! So the flanges are mocked up with the disc brake caliper bolt pattern indexed to keep them out of the dirt, the pic is not showing that index due to me rotating the housing to get clean tack welds.

New chromoly spindles are going on! We had to slightly de burr the inside of the housing with a due grinder to get the spindle to sit flush. At least they are nice and tight!!

We paired a 84 4runner front rotor and wheel bearing hubs. We will be using the same year calipers!!

Are those the TG spindles? Also what are you doing for inner axle seals? Looks great!
