New to the forum and looking for a bit of help. I'm trying to figure out about how much I could ask for my 1989 fj62 if I were to sell it. It was sprayed last year with good paint and clear coat, and has very little rust on the frame at all. Interior is in okay condition. Missing interior panels in the cargo area. Has been maintained well since I've owned it (about 2 years) and has not been abused... too much.

Would need a lot more info and pictures to really get a good ballpark.
I only have pictures of it in the dark when we went wheeling. That's the only light one I have at the moment. But based on what you can see in that pic what do you think? The rest of the truck is in the same condition. Frame is very very good. Interior is just average. Missing a few things here and there, and the occasional very light stain.

Come on man... there's no way anyone can appraise your cruiser based on the lack of info and pictures you've provided. How about some simple info, like the mileage? Any mods? I see the bumpers may be missing the caps, or maybe they're some kind of home brew? Can you provide a few more details about the maintenance you've done? Finally, when a seller says the interior is "okay" and that it hadn't been abused "too much", it has me walking away.

Paint looks nice, but it can temporarily cover a lot of problems.

Based on what little info you provided, I'd be comfortable giving you $1500 as a parts rig though.

Im sure some one would let you sleep with their wife for that truck. Somewhere?

Yes I understand it is a bit difficult right now as I just used the rug last night so it still has a nice thick layer of mud on it. The interior has one oil stain about 1" square on the headliner. Carpet is good for the most part except for a bald patch about 3" square on the tranny hump. Mechanically everything works perfect. Undercoated with oil regularly. Waxed every few weeks at least. About 250 miles. Bumpers are home made.

There's still a lot of mysteries here bud. With that mileage, there's bound to be a lot of baseline maintenance to be done. Without knowing what you've done, or the PO has done, I'd have to assume that a major engine overhaul is due in the near future, perhaps a transfercase rebuild, tranny is a big x-factor as well.

Right now, I'm in the 5k to 7k range. But with more info, I could easily get to 10k. The body, paint and frame (if the conditions are as described) are the biggest positives right now. Give us more to feel good about man.

Sorry I forgot to mention it had an unused Japan auto tranny put in about 2 years ago. The po were my parents (land cruiser enthusiasts and now collectors) since they could drive. This was their daily driver (faded paint, bubbling chrome truck) until I got it and started to restore the body. Tad also was re cored about a year ago.

And also has a new exhaust installed (everything but the CAD and manifold.

You are starting to get me north of 7k now... I like that you know the chain of custody on the cruiser. Seems like you've taken maintenance seriously. I'm guessing that your parents didn't really wheel it.

I think if you found some stock bumpers, or some nice aftermarket stuff, to give it a more finished look... spent a little time cleaning up the interior... you could get to 10k.

I like the chrome bumpers as well, but they were flaking badly so I opted to get rid of them and weld up my own. My parents didn't wheel it much at all. Any wheeling that I do is nothing more than the vehicle can handle. I crawl along nice and slow and avoid steering hard when in 4wd. Sometimes it means making a 10 point turn, but at least I know it's not going to damage any steering components. Every time the brakes are done I also rebuild the locking hubs and re grease them.
