Five sided later ones are hard to legitimately find.

Awesome! I hate living in CT. Since it's a grey market, I have to go through safety inspection even though it already had a us title. Been about 2 months to work out all the kinks and I'm still not registered :/.

ALso found brass in the transmission. Third gear synchro is gone, cannot down shift into it. Was really hoping not to spend this much money but looks like I have a h55f rebuilt on my hands soon.

80 series steering gear in, power steering pump, all new wheel bearings, shifter bushings, new calipers, outer wheel seals, windshield wipers, squirters, removed tint and new mirrors. Still need to get a pair of new corner lights, some molded floormats, manufacture transmission tunnel cover, and gotta install some harness points for baby seats.

Wish me luck on Tuesday.

I'm still confused though as to why you need to make a transmission tunnel cover. I have a bunch of good used ones that would be proper for your setup here, be happy to sell you one.
For the transmission, unless you are going to do it yourself. just go straight to a new one. They aren't really worth it to pay rebuild labor on if it needs a single hard part you'll be over the cost of a new one.
That being said I will have a good used H55f available soon.
you could also put a 85-87 H42 in which are availble in good shape for super cheap/free from H55f installs.

Its been a while got a ton of work done
New mirrors, wipers, lights, new calipers, break shoes, wheel bearings, rear axle studs cone washers, diff fluid, engine oil, all metal fuel line, new shifter bushings, cool vinyl pack , new choke, oh and baby seat anchors.

Wife is still not too keen on it, wants me to get something more baby friendly. I learned to live with the third gear synchro being dodgy. Its really not so bad.

Our son (2.5 year old) likes it, our daughter (3 weeks old) is indifferent.
