Because I don't have enough unfinished projects...for $650 I couldn't say no.

Got a flat with a screw too close to the sidewall to patch. Hunted for a replacement Toyo H/T but they’re all out of stock and the H/T IIs don’t come in the stock 16” 100 series size. The spare was original and a mismatched tire would have driven me crazy.

After hemming and hawing I pulled the trigger on 5 285/75r16 Falken Wildpeaks

I’ll be selling the 3 Toyos for cheap. They have about 20k on them.

for a few years now my trans and tcases have leaked some gear oil. At fall crawl it started leaking more and more. I went to Rausch in mid December and put two courts in from fall crawl and this Saturday I went to The Cove and put another quart in. Pulled it on the trailer and it was everywhere. So I was expecting that I have split my case even though I had all the bracing you can put on a solid case. I pulled it tonight and from what I can tell it’s still together. Now every where there is a gasket or sealant it is leaking. Hopefully I will get to tear it down this week and see what kind of shape it’s all in and seal it up and stab it back in.

Don't forget to seal the splines on the rear output shaft with silicone sealer in front of the big washer when you put it together!!!!!!!

What Gary said. Also, it wouldn't hurt to replace the output shaft seals, front and back. I'd also put a close eye on the gasket at the base of the front cone.

Oh yeah, I have built a few of these. I sealed the nose cone and rear with FIPG when I picked it up from Gary 10 years ago. It also didn't help that who ever originally built it used clear household silicone between the cases. Everything is just loose. I dont know why, I only drive it to church on sundays and a trip to the grocery store every now and then lol. Im just not looking forward to diving into it.

I'm pulling my engine/trans/transfer this weekend so y'all will get to see the status of another leaky trans/transfer. I already installed a speedi-sleeve and replaced the output shaft seal, still leaks through the e-brake drum and possibly from other places too. I'll probably take the trans/transfer up to Aztek Land Cruiser up in Santa Fe, NM and have it rebuilt unless you guys convince me to take a crack at it myself.

Once I pull the drivetrain I'll assess what all needs to be done. Gonna be fun!

Look in to the double seal speedo housing that @orangefj45 sells.

That looks awesome. I'm going to get one. Thanks Patrick!

Went to pick up the trans the other night like I did 10 years ago. Nope can’t do it. Tractor to the rescue.

Matt nothing was gonna rust on that assembly was it???????? I like your stand, too- I use a bellhousing as the stand when I'm doing work like this.

Engine stands
All are mine are tied up with junk or that's where it would have been and so are my work benches. Too many projects and never enough time.

Engine stands work well too.
Good thought, I might pick up a third engine stand, one for my engine, one for my spare engine, and one for my transmission, 😂
