We had a small group last Sat. It was better than ever before. We had two who were out of town and couldn't make it. The rest of us were there.
Mike, Bio-D, thanks for the support and making it out. We missed Will and Juan this month. Will is leading a mountain fishing tour, and Wancho is with family elsewhere.
Next month will be on the 19th at ten AM. We will then decide if we should move 100 yards south to the IHOP lot where we can get eggs & pancakes with our Cruisers. Food is good. Everybody should have some every day. This would require us to reprint the invitation cards. We'll think about it until we get hungry. We might move the meet to IHOP.

DAMN! I missed it by a week. I'll be in Prescott Valley this Saturday and was planning to swing by your meet up there. Third Friday is this week. Third Saturday however was last weekend. Bummer...

Breakfast is better than lunch when we are hungry in the morning. IHOP has a lot of parking. They are in the same lot with gas, deli and groceries. Fry's seemed to be best at the beginning, but IHOP looks better now. They have plenty of parking. Everyone who shows up in April gets a vote on the move. Be at the gas station area of Fry's at 10 AM, as usual. If we move, we should do it at the May meet. I will do the initial printing for camera copies and layout for new cards if we move.
Moving now is easier than later. We have a limited number of people now. Later we will have more, and moving will be harder. My vote is in for IHOP at the May meet.

I am now prepared for a 10 million candlepower light attack.

You are scaring me, Cody!
The move from Fry's to IHOP is a foregone conclusion. Why did I not think of this sooner?
It is subject to the vote at the April meet. Those who show at Fry's in April can vote. It should be a clear call. If we decide to move, I will make the new cards and printing that will be needed.
The manager at IHOP has blessed our gather as long as we park over near the Wendy's that is closed at that hour on Saturday. There is plenty of space to park trucks. IHOP can provide us with breakfast, brunch, or lunch as needed.
Let's meet at Fry's as usual one more time in April, and then vote to move to IHOP.

B-MAN
Yes, we had a blunder!
When the first day of the month falls on a Saturday, we are a week ahead of you.
The idea is that we should have a meet on the morning after your Friday night, so that you can send us the club news from the main meet. We blew it in March, and we have to try to fix it in the future. We want to meet the morning after you do so that you can send us news and updates.

I saw your rig at the swapmeet on Saturday. I looked for ya when I was wandering around the swap but got distracted when the cops cuffed and stuffed some dude selling bunk DVD's.

Next time.

Ben (Cruzer971) was a pretty cool guy. I met up with him yesterday and we went exploring some trails.

Lots of water crossings and some trails that required some brush trimming to be passable.

My coolant overflow tank decided to jump off its mounting clip and commit suicide against the cooling fan, so much so that the emergency medical duct tape treatment could not save him. I already sourced a replacement through the classifieds for the transplant.

I only had my phone to take a few pics...Ben and his sister were snapping a ton so hopefully they'll post some if they turned out.

Hmm...I remember passing through Cleator to get to the area, not really sure of the name of the place though...I think it was my first time in that area...many parts of the trail were overgrown so traffic hasn't been through there in some time.

It is a trail that goes up Turkey Creek from Bumble Bee to Cleator. Pretty fun day trip. My camera is a relic. It still uses this stuff called film, and I haven't had the rolls developed yet. Then I have to go to my parents house and scan them into a downloadable file. Such a pain, I should just get with the times and get a digital camera.

Howdy! TAke your 35mm film to Walgreens and get a CD with the prints, then you don't have to scan them. John

Turkey Creek is a cool trail, loads of good views, we ran it over Thanksgiving. Some pix in this thread, mixed in with Bumble Bee wanderings and Log Corral-Power Line pix.

We're getting off subject here, in a good way. I might be able to get down that way soon. Turkey Creek, Cleater, and the whole are are a lot of fun.
I know the wife of Joe Cleater's old partner in the mine that started the whole area. She is a great old lady who has lots of stories to tell of the old mining days. She still owns Stoddard and all of the old mines there. I did a bit of work on her hut last year, but I spent more time listening to stories than I spent working! She is pretty cool! She graduated from Prescott High School, and she is closer to 80 than far from that age! She has some great stories to tell!

Cue raging housefire in.....

yeah, plus its already on fire.

(stockpiles marshmallows, graham crackers, and chocolate)

Finally got my custom 25' extension cord/adaptor thingy so I could use the dryer outlet.

No house fires yet...but this welder is ridiculously easy to use.

Obviously this isn't straight, and I have no idea what I'm doing but for pretty much being brand new to welding it looks decent to me for a first bead to just test the machine.

I just turn the gas on, turn the machine on....and it has a little drop down box with welding parameters.

Using .035 solid wire with a CO2/Argon mix....the machine tells me for 1/4" steel to set the first knob to 21.0 and the second knob to 375 and I'm ready to go.

This is so much easier than when I bought the tiny Lincoln welder from Home Depot a few years ago and it looked like I sneezed liquid metal everywhere.

I might as well move my computer into the garage since I'll never leave it....
