Sorry PFran I beat you to the punch. I have secured the Lexus Electronic controller for our test mule on this project. It's likely that I wont need it after so You will be first in line.

real quick hi-jack
I had sent Lexi a PM to see about it but it looks like I got beat to the punch. My 2000 LX470 climate controll buttons are sticking. I can't even get the defrost to work when it is cold out. Any suggestions for replacement? I think the nobs would work a little better? they seem to work okay when it is warm, once it starts getting cold they don't work as well. I would be willing to donate to the cause if it would help, once I got replacement.
Hi-jack over.
Hey Rob...What if everyone who needs this done to their rig sends $100.00 your way? Would that get it done? I would start on wire mapping if the LC was not my DD...
This project is now in full swing. I will be accepting seed money to offset the hard costs and a bit of my time - more on this shortly.
Phase 1 is the PRE 2003 trucks
I have decided to approach this solution in three ways:
1. Owner who wants to change out his system to 3 dial and have a nice space for a double DIN head unit of his choosing by simply writing a check and having every trim piece, electronics and converting wire harness etc. show up at his door. As plug and play as possible. This owner might have perfectly good MFD that he can sell to offset the costs of the new solution.
2. Owner who wants to tackle this project himself by scrounging the needed trim and electronics but needs the harness solution. This would be a solution for an owner who wants to use the electronic Lexus controller instead of 3 dials or someone who wants to spend less than solution 1.
3. Owner who is interested in doing it all themselves. Building the harness and scrounging all the parts to do it.
Those folks that seed this project as a start up will get the benefits a significantly reduced cost.
I have already created the entire parts requirements lists and toyota part numbers to do this from a cosmetic and control perspective, including parts that must be reused. Mapping the harness is underway.
Phase 2 for 2003+ trucks and is a parallel project and is underway as well.
I will provide updates on MUD and at a separate URL with info on how to get involved.

Ok guys here is the deal;
As you can imagine this is a bit of an undertaking in time, logistics and money so I appreciate your patience and support.
Beginning today I will be accepting paypal to fund a kick starter program to do this project. I've tried to make it super affordable for those that are interested in participating. The kick starter is not a for profit venture but a way to encourage participation and get a great result for all involved. If you have any questions regarding the program please PM me and keep the chatter off the board. I will post any relevant questions and answers that arrise and add them to an FAQ on the website.
CruiserOPs.Com - Convert your Factory Land Cruiser Navigation System to After Market
EDIT - First Question: Is this only for 98-02? No. This project is for all North American 100 series 1998-2007.
ChuckB said:Option #1 paid for. I'm really looking forward to this project. The NAV was the one thing holding me back from the newer 100's.
I had to guess on the year I entered in PayPal, I still have to buy the cruiser...![]()
