quick question.... how much power should the power steering have? Everything feels ok while driving, no whining from pump, no leaks etc just the typical staining of the resevoir.... however.... when i get one of the front wheels up against a rock or rut the steering gets very hard to turn.. hard meaning it doesnt feel like it has power steering at all. Is this normal?

This is normal. Don't steer once you are bound up, but drive with intent.
