went to pull a budy out of a creek bottom last night. Got down to him and found a bunch of nice little hill climbs. One in particular was pretty steep. So i gave it a shot. While about halfway up, started spinning and lost forward momentum, and at about the same time my power steering started humming pretty bad. As i backed down the hill, i noticed fluid had leaked out around the cap on the resevior. When i got back on flat ground, the humming stopped and didn't humm any longer. I'm curious as to why fluid would come out on a climb like that? I know most of you all have been up steeper inclines.

Probably tilted it back enough to starve it of fluid. That noise are the vanes of the pump without fluid and as you returned to normal the air worked out and all returned to normal.

Presto! :)

Once air enters that system the pump really foams the fuid up and increases it's volume which can push out some fluid through the cap. I'd replace the cap/seal on the reservoir incase it is leaking a little.
