1967 FJ40
I'm looking for suggestions for power steering conversion kits for my 1967 Land Cruiser. Any hints?
Thanks

The engine is a short block v8 Chev. I do some desert travelling and not too serious rock crawling.
On my 65 with a V8 I put a Saginaw pump with a factory FJ40 power steering box from a 79. You’ll need to cut the original one piece steering column and weld an adapter at the end. You could also use a mini truck box. There are lots of helpful material on the conversion here on mud. It’s an upgrade worth the effort for sure. My FJ45 almost feels like a modern car, almost![]()
^ this. Hearing good things about this. @wngrog has some info on this and run time. Way simpler conversion cab side. Not engine bay. If it’s light duty use it makes good sense.electric is an option
