hi,
my 97 40th anniversary edition is giving me some problems with the power door lock switch. When i unlock the doors with the key, to unlock all doors, every door does unlock with the exception of the rear door on the drivers door. I still have the same issue when unlocking the door with the switches in the interior it does not unlock. I've read thru the different threads but i cant seem to find a solution. Has anyone had this issue? Before i take the door apart does anyone have any suggestions.

I had the same problem with the rear passenger door. I ended up having to replace the locking mechanism with a used one from Cruiserparts.net. All is well.

I found original Toyota switches on Amazon yesterday when I was working on mine.
Pull your switch and check continuity. For me it was that motor. It was beyond repair...

You probably need to replace the motor. This is what I used.

Thanks and ordered.

The most common issue we see is; a plastic arm in the actuator strips. The most common door is passenger rear, but can happen to any of them.

This happened to my ds rear door a.couple years ago, I replaced the door lock switch, there's a very helpful video on YouTube on how to do it, definitely worth the effort to watch that.

That is my experience too. You can easily tell because you can hear that the motor still runs and nothing happens. I cross drill the plastic and rod and epoxy a cross pin in to make it turn again. It is about a 1 hour job.
