My daily driver. The one below is a bit newer, note the internal cable routing. Mine runs along the top tube. I also don't have the nifty 7/11 decal on the top tube :frown:

1989ish Merckx Corsa in 7/11 color scheme. I <3 this ride....

Update: Eddy was stolen from my backyard shortly after this post. It took about a year, but I replaced it with a Salsa La Cruz. Frame was a bit big, so traded it for a smaller one. First ride out on the smaller one, got into a head on with a mtn biker on some single track, and put a lil' bulge in the top tube, right behind the tubing butts near the head tube. This was supposed to be my mid life crisis bike and last me 10+ years. So I ended up ordering a Salsa Vaya, which will fit my intended riding a bit better. Gonna start swapping the parts next week.

Any idea what a La Cruz frameset is worth? 1 ride only :) The bulge in the top tube is probably 1mm high by 3mm wide- you can barely see it.

That's a nice road bike! I bet it's hard to find a custom steel builder as these days, composite frames are the big sellers.

Yes, Dave does amazing work. Steel builders aren't hard to find at all, you just have to know where to look.:)

Nice bike! I saw a dude in the woods with a cyclo cross bike last weekend. Although lighter, quicker, etc., it really seemed like the wrong tool for mountain biking. There's no way it could be quicker through rocky, rooted woods than a full suspension bike.

Do you ride/race cyclo-cross?

The cross bike will "go there" but your right you won't blast the rocks and roots like you could on a full suspension mtn bike. Fast, smooth sweeping single track is fun on a cross bike.

Extra-Moots! Steel Mountaineer (1983/84)

I forgot my favorite ride of all, the workhorse, grocery getter/dog-food hauler Moots Mountaineer from around 1983/84 with Extra-Cycle attached;better known as "the Extra-Moots".
Hand-built by Kent Eriksen back in the good 'ol days of mountain biking.

Hey... that's not a single speed!

I haven't seen a set up like that before.

I like it, one for dirt one for pavement!
