I sold off all my racing gear when I decided I was done which included a couple of road bikes, a full on TT rig, two SRMs and a couple pair of Zipps.
Of all the bikes I've had over the years (it's been probably 50-60) I really miss my Rivendell Atlantis. I rarely rode it the last couple years before I sold it but it is my one regret out of all of them.

Crappy phone pic of my latest acquisition. It was free (minus the wheelset). Didn't have to blow the guy or anything. Now I gotta get her tuned up for the New Year, she's put together horribly.
I have slowly cleared out my stable of bikes to fund my cruiser addiction. All but my favorite, my Turner 5spot, until now. Hopefully it's new home will be that of a local cruiserhead. I have decided to simplify things in my cycling world with the purchase of a new bike......a HARDTAIL. But not just any hardtail, this thing is a beauty, and unbelievably light. It's an Access Stealth 1.0 Carbon 29er, full XTR and weighs in at 20.9lbs. I don't have pics yet but I pulled this from the web.

it looks like it has a conventional derailleur mounted. what is different about the frame to take a rohloff?

Rohloff is an internally geared hub, so it needs the same frame design bits as does a fixie or a single speed. Either an eccentric bottom bracket or horizontal rear drop-outs with adjusters.

The big difference with the frame is a removable section just above the dropout on the drive side so that a belt can be fitted.

Anyone who's ever used a "Singlator" or similar chain tensioner on an MTB will prefer not to. Including me. I just haven't found a better way with vertical drop-outs. Which is why I did not mention them. No need to spread the misery.

My mate had a rohloff on his old bike previous to this one and it had vertical dropouts, I'll have to ask him how he tensioned the chain. Of course you can't beat eccentric dropouts like the transition has, makes it stupidly simple to go ss.

Rohloff offers a tensioner, perhaps it is better than those that I've used. So far the best tensioner, though far from the lightest, has been a short cage road deraileur.
I used a YESS tensioner on my enduro when I was running an alfine 11 hub on it. It was a nice piece. It's a two roller style like a traditional derailleur and you could set it up with a bunch of tension to keep the chain from slapping. I never had any issues with it, my only complaint was the top pulley wasn't a tooth'd cog so it made a little racket. The surley singlenator has a lot to be desired.

Recently picked up a Trek Sawyer rigid (I'm a rigid guy) 29er. A fun handling bike and I dig the retro look. I'm also contemplating going with the Gates Center Track Carbon belt drive. Just haven't decided if I want to go SS or with a Rohloff or Alfine set up.

I met a biker in the woods with the belt drive Rohlhoff combo. He was moving quickly. The bike was really well thought out, but I'm still a one bike dualie guy.

My Engineering Senior Project used a belt drive driven by an "unsprung" Rohloff. We had lots of nay-sayers about the belt back then. HAH! We used a Goodyear Eagle PD belt since at the time it was the only belt available that didn't need fences.
I ride a Scattante 560 road bike with 105 components. It.s been a great ride so far. Have put approx. 7k miles on it and only had to replace rear wheel bearings and rear cassette
