seems like the alpine has to be single din sized and that if you had the true double din top plastic the side gap would be gone. Then a regular single din pocket/cover piece would fit normally and cover it all up. Just thinking
Looks pretty neat as is.

Found my final piece, the non-NAV console tub.

Mine is 100% complete.

Any regular one from a 100 that didn't have the CD changer fits well. There's one tab to cut off on the bottom, little tin snipping.

Would it be possible to 3d print the double din fascia so it fits in above the factory clock? I've noticed that the clock parts seem to be the hardest to find, and it would drop the price down quite a bit so its easier to swallow. I would just need to find the Climate control parts

I've read through the entire thread and would love to attempt this, but I've never even looked at a wire diagram before. It seems most in this thread have completed the conversion with success. I feel like it's something I could probably handle because of my experience with computers and troubleshooting but I have no experience with car wiring.

There were a few mentions of factory rear DVD option but I never saw definitive answers on the results of this conversion and the functionality of the rear DVD player. Does anyone know if it's usable after the conversion?

edit: 2006 MY, not sure build date at the moment.

I wondered also if the top computer could be skipped entirely. No mileage or clock or security light of course. I'll have to unplug mine and see what happens.

@FIJCK The rear dvd option was something installed at port from what I've read. There can be varying models, and varying quality of install. All you would need to do is look at the inputs to your screen/DVD player and see what's there. As long as you put in a new stereo with the right outputs, you could make it work.

I am having the same issues with sourcing the heater housing. What purpose does it serve? Is there a way to rig something that serves the same purpose?

it houses the ac amp and it covers and affixes the heater control pcb the rear of the climate control panel.
someone could make a crude example and it could work.
Pretty silly a 11 dollar part is NLA. If it really is.

I have hit all of the regular places (Partsouq, Toyotapartsdeal, McGeorge, Amayama, etc...) and even have contacted all of the used parts sources and nobody seems to have it available. I have ordered all of the other parts. Seems crazy that the one obstacle is going to be an $11 piece of plastic. If I had one to look at/measure I would try and vacuum form one myself (or make it out of kydex). Not giving up yet but it does seem that this is going to be a new part that creates problems since it is EOL'ed.

BTW Jerry, are you still feeling like you may be building new harnesses in the not too distant future?

with that picture and having the three boards on your hand and the front facing control panel I think there are a few ways to make something work.
yes on the harnesses. Right now it's just the wrong time of year. work and moving. I'm out of some colors of wire also. Lots of crude to buy.

Well, been lurking on this thread for awhile. @jerryb when life slows a little for you, I would love to purchase a harness for my 2004 100 (9/03 build). Finally decided to get the ball rolling on this before it's too late. Figured I'd ask if anyone has the following parts leftover or unused in their swaps. If not, I will keep hunting. Waiting on @Boomdea to check a part number for a leftover. If you do, please PM me with cost/shipping.

I live in Lake Stevens WA.

Thank you in advance.

Jon

Thanks Stickly. Hoping someone else here has some extra bits they are sitting on and decide they don't want to do this.

Just an FYI for the Heater Housing (60150) that is out of inventory everywhere. I found that the Lexus version ( 55912-60140 ) looks almost exactly the same (it has one additional tab on the bottom) and LexusPartsNow says they are available. I ordered one in the hope that it will at least be serviceable for minor customization.

NOTE- I actually spoke with a rep through chat to verify that they were actually available because ToyotaPartsDeal says that 60150 is in-stock but when you order they send an email telling you that they are no longer available... If this turns out to be a false alarm and they cancel the order I'll let you know

Thanks Stickly. Will be ordering everything tonight after work.

Just another FYI- Now I can't find 88650-60B80 (the ac amplifier). Shows up as in stock at several places but after contacting them everyone says it is on backorder. If the Lexus part actually fits/works in place of the 60150 housing then this is the last pice I need...
