Hi all,

Have been looking around the forums a lot and researching a new possible LC purchase. I found a 2013 LC that looks pretty good around here (the dreaded NorthEast). I had the dealer send me some pictures of the undercarriage and I don't think it is too bad. Thought I would try to use the hive mind to verify I am not crazy. It is a truck that has spent it's life here in Mass. I appreciate any thoughts. (I have a few more shots but it looks like 5 per post. Don't want to break the rules on my first post ;))

That's not too bad. Pretty decent really. Surface rust like that is really typical on cruiser that see any sort of winter where they use road salt, unless you live in the dry warm climate of the southwest, you will see some surface rust on about any of them.

No major signs of heavy wheeling. Nothing bashed in on it anyway.
Not seeing anything that looks unusually new up against something clearly aged. That would be a good sign of accident.

For anyone that is shopping, this one might turn out to be a scam it is priced so cheap, just saw it on Cars.com the other day.
The price is really probably to good to be true.
If its for real, and nothing is wrong with it, it is a steel for a 2011 32,000 mile cruiser for only $29,900. Most that year with those miles are still bumping 50K pretty easily.

I'm still shopping for a 200 but to my amateur eye that looks positively pristine compared to many that I've been looking at.

Thanks for all the replies. Went to look at it in person, on the lift today (those were pics from the dealer) and it has a bit more rust but not bad. Fortunately the community here gave me the info to know to check the KDSS valve and it was totally rusted over. The tech tried to open the screws with a ratchet to no avail. The bright side of it is that I knew enough to check that based on comments here. So on to the next one and cheers!

Well good for you. :)
Sadly, there is an entire thread here that chronicles the ongoing efforts of a 200 owner trying to overcome rusted-shut KDSS valves... It's a real problem, and very expensive to replace if you can't open...so good that you learned to check.
