Positive terminal on my battery has been eaten by corrosion. It was so bad the nut wouldn't come off and gave me quite some headache to remove it. The OEM one (part #8267560020) isn't pricey but since my OEM one corroded into almost nothing, I'm looking at other options.

I found a marine terminal with wing nut that roughly fits but was a bit wide that I had to bend the sides of the fusible link front tab. Not bad, but I wonder what have you guys found that fits under the fusible link front tab?

You can easily find those on Amazon and they're relatively cheap. Just search "Battery Terminals" and there are a few other designs that may better suit your needs for functionality:

NOCO TZKIT1 Lead-Free Zinc Battery Terminal

Marine Grade Battery Terminal Connector

IMHO I would want the Marine Grade because that best suit my needs for functionality. I have the factory wiring harness, plus light bar/dual pod leads, winch solenoid box leads, and the 4g wire used when my sound system was installed. So I have quite a few extra wires and that design appears as though it would best secure my setup.

I have been thinking about doing this soon so keep this thread up-to-date on what you decide.

Replacing terminals is one of those 'while you're in there' kind of jobs. If you replace the positive terminal then why not replace the negative too?

Doesn't matter which replacement, if not cleaned and greased regularly outcome will be the same.

Baking soda & white lithium grease best practice.

Thanks all. The marine terminal I found at Advance Auto worked well, just a tad bit wide, and due to my picky nature I couldn't refrain from looking for a better fit.

Any benefits to side mount over top mount or vice versa? I just wasn't happy with the top mount on my El Camino. I kept an eye on amazon for side mount cables that fit my needs and picked them up cheap. When my top mount died, I replaced it with a side mount.

Going with a sealed or AGM battery reduces the acid leakage that causes the corrosion.
