What happens if u don’t Regear? Does it mess up the engine and transmission

So I’m confused can you put 315/75/16 without rubbing and regearing? Or u should Regear not to add stress to vehicle? On stock height for daily driver

My fzj80 on 35’s was “fine” (which is what my wife would say, which means not fine at all), so I regeared (4.88’s) and I’m much happier with it, especially on asphalt in the hills or off-road in the mountains. And I have the option for 37’s if I decide to move up…(it’s just on a 2.5” OME heavy lift)
