Common issue or just a coinkeedink? Never had the codes show up until now...basically after taking the front of engine apart.

Thanks

Both left and right downstream O2 sensors dont like what thier sniffing- start unraveling where the source of the rich fuel mix is stemming from.

(High voltage reading in O2 sensor generally indicates rich fueling condition)

I hear that if timing is off one groove the engine will seem to run good but could cause the 138, 158 rich fuel codes.

I took timing covers off to check whatever I could. Not sure what to look for. I assume I need to turn engine somehow to get the belt mark on top to see if it lines up correctly ?? What is proper safe way to turn engine and timing belt?

Thanks

I doubt belt off a tooth is your issue but here's how to check. I say doubt because that a VVT engine, which could interfere.

You need to turn the crank CW until #1 TDC compression stroke. Then crank timing mark will be at zero and both cam gears dead on mark.

Compression gauge is handy to determine compression stroke. Gauge will just start to come up while turning crank slowly by hand. This LH (DS) cam mark is almost 0.5 mm past the mark cover mark (I)

This is shot of right (passage side) cam mark coming up to timing mark on cover, about three teeth to go.

Note: the "T" is not the mark. A service manager at a Dealership, said to me they had to buy a customer and engine. Seem s tech aligned a VVT engine to the "T".
