Hello , looks like I'm 10 years late to this thread but found in that I'm looking at same issue. How did this end up? What did work? thanks
I ended up replacing the section of pipe. If yours is on a vertical section of pipe you might be able to build a funnel of duct tape and melt lead solder so it would go into the crack. It would be less evasive than replacement and a cheap and quick possible solution. Sorry I didn't have a chance to respond earlier. Don't visit to forums to often.
