I agree. If someone or group wants to have an event or activity post up a date and time for it. If someone wants to participate or watch or just have a good time hanging around they will be there.

We are already planning the 1st weekend of Nov. My vacation is already locked in.

Here's a compromise:

Lets keep this year's date as its has always been, the first weekend in November. This will make it easy for those who already have their vacations scheduled. It also provides continuity with the event.

Then for next year, once the new event is established, the date can change. I think it's a bad idea to change the date. Specially this late in the game.

Just my two cents.

The whole point of this was to change the date to earlier, not later....

I concur for this year, keep it the same.

Like planning anything, you're not going to please everyone!

Looks like we already have more votes for the first weekend of Nov than both weekends in the pole combined.

So this was decided because someone set up a poll that didn't include the original dates? Wow, reading the last page here seems to sum up that no one wants either "poll" dates. Great job!
