pink crumbles at timing belt pulleys

Working on a timing belt change and found this when we got to the pulleys. Anyone seen anything like this before? What is it?

It's hard to tell in the picture but it looks like some old coolant leak got crusty.
It looks like the same build up coolant that you may see around the upper radiator hose.

It is coolant. When it dries it crystallizes like that. A drop here or that wont do that, a drop here or there over many many years will.
 
coolant seepage possibly from water pump.
 
Do the water pump & thermostat while you're there.
 
Get an Aisin Kit and replace Cam and crank seal with Toyota parts, get it done once and for all and not worry about it for the next 100k.
