i think I already read that article in toyota trails. Possibly when the children are grown (the youngest is 3) and out of the house I may be able to retire and scale down to a proper "expedition" trailer and find the time to use it. Until then, very little coolness factor but the current model nonetheless suites our needs. It gets us further off paved roads than a minivan towing a stock popup would.Cool camper Douglas.
Now just drive around the world, pick up a few hot nurses and then write a book about it. Oh yeah and break a few trailer axles.

Here's our setup, it's not much like what you guys have over there though.
It has electric brakes, 33"BFG mud to match the car, Q/S bed up top, full kitchen, 60lt water tank, shower etc. etc.

\It's to protect the trailer from stone chips, and to prevent damage to the rear of the car ( paint chips and broken windows from stone rebounds ).
It's a 1" tube frame with pvc / pvc coated nylon mesh cover, laced on at the bottom edge with bungie cord through eyelets.
It came with the trailer, but I since removed it to make some more room up front.
^ wow, beauty, nice job. I esp like the aft flair supports. Any reason you didn't sully the line w/ fuel/water, etc?
how long does it take you to set that up? sleeps how many? potty facitilies?
