Hi! I have been looking a this FJ45 Owners Club Forum for a number of years now, but never registered until now.

I live in Bogota, Colombia and I have a 1961 Toyota FJ45LV that was my grandpa´s since new. He passed away a couple of years ago, but the FJ remained in the family. It has never been restored, but it also has never stopped working since it was bought new. For some 20 years or so, it was only used on weekends by my grandfather to go from the city, to his country house, about 60 miles apart. So in those 20 years, it only did around 100k miles, and was inside the garage the rest of the time. In total, it has less than 300k original miles.

A couple of minor things were changed along the years (the interior and exterior colors, were changed a couple of years after it was bought, in the 60´s, taillight, rear view mirrors, front turning lights, that I can remember). This was 1 out of 20 trucks made by Toyota, for the Colombian Cundinamarca State Electricity Company, but then, that company sold it brandnew, before it was even registered, to my grandpa, so it was never used by anyone else but him (he did´t even let any of his sons or doughters to ever drive it), and he was the only registered owner ever, until his death. Originally it was factory painted with the electricity company´s color, and also, it had an upgraded tailgate, specially requested by the colombian company, in order to be more sturdy, since it was going to be used in very harsh environments. You can see some pictures of it, as it is rightnow, and also some other old pictures of it in the 70s, and 80s, in my fb album. Any comments, sugestions, questions, etc., will be apprecieted. Here is the link: Toyota FJ 45 LV | Facebook

There's a number on the frame: 10217. And the engine number is 153824 I think.

There's a picture of the numbers in the fb album.

Thanks for posting these. So this tailgate wasn't stock on the LV, but an upgrade. Wild.

Or maybe it was...that upper hatch looks different than the other models, too. I wonder if it's just an early version.

The article says it was an upgraded tailgate specially requested by the Columbian company. It looks like a stock 25 gate, custom hatch and the body was fabbed to match the smaller width. Pretty darn cool.
