It's going to be a fun project. Needs a bit of work.
First things first, needs a new turbo. I'm reading mixed opinions on the Gturbo and definitely want to add the PDI intercooler/trans cooler. Any input will be much appreciated.
Sweet! Is the engine stock currently? Hows the mileage? If its an early 1HD, BEBs should be on your list of maintenance especially if you plan on turning up the power.

I'm running a green-wheel G-Turbo and PDI IC set-up. The jury is still out in the green-wheel. I have about 40k miles on mine and it's been fine but I'm curious how it will hold up in the long run.
The PDI works great, but fitment is a bit of a PITA.
If you jump up in boost (likely require a new injection pump as well as a turbo or at least a full tune) keep in mind you'll need more air coming in (and out) as well. I have a 4" custom airbox and she wants all the fresh air sh can get. 3" exhaust is also nice to keep things flowing on that side.
First things I did to mine were a 12v starter swap and a glow system delete. The 24v starter is damned hard to find & $$. The 12v version is available in the US as the part number crosses with another that is available in the US. I installed a Wilson switch instead of trying to fix the expensive and complicated glow system. It needs to get into the low 40s outside before my truck wants a glow cycle anyway.
Any competent shop can rebuild a 24 volt starter.
Dodge starter parts can also be used if needed.
12 volts just don't kick an engine over like 24 volts. I own/owned both types and if you need to start in the -35 degree range I vote 24 volts.
My Hdj80 with the FT was converted PO to 12 volt and the glow was deleted. I have added a momentary switch to the system and a Bluetooth Webasto. Considering the above my old 1991 hdj81 with 24volt starter is way better at starting, just one flick of the key.
Now if you never plan to get into cold climate then forget what I've posted.
