Its a 1965 FST. I scored the drop down tailgate from it. The tub etc is rusted to hell. But apparently the engine runs?!! It is real original, and has some good bits and pieces.

Its the North San Jose PnP

Just in case someone is looking for some old school parts...

I wish I was there, I could use so many parts I can see on there. I would be stripping that puppy, not that I could but wonder what they would charge for the hole thing.

steering wheel looks perfect, haven't seen a nice original early wheel yet.

Hey MAD40er - are you anywhere near this? I'm pretty sure I could use that rear view mirror (interior) if this in fact a '65. Anyway to get someone to make a local pickup for me? (I'd compensate for the effort).

Sheez, now that I look at it more closely, there's wheels under there I'd take, roll bar, round turn signals, FD handle/lever, short running boards...yeah, and that steering wheel. Well crap, the engine as well if it runs, I'll start my 50-year aniversary frame off a bit early. (damn damn damn)

Yeah, the steering wheel is in great condition. I might go back and get it, just need to find my puller! I am not far, maybe 10 miles from there.

Not sure if the mirror is original, but hey, maybe someone can verify?

Just another photo from the rear. One thing I did check out was the rear light brackets. They do look original, and the lights mounted have not messed them up at all. I need to go back when I have more time. Maybe tomorrow.

If the mirror mount holes look like the attached pic, it's original (and needed by this humble mudder:D)

You should bring it all home...just too much good on that to let it go...sorry to see the old girl like that :frown:

ah fawk i love to have the steering wheel and bits :)

nice find man :D

I'm with you on the wheel destin, you've been looking for a good one for a long time. But that and $2 will get you a bad cup of coffee, I'm afraid:eek:

Soft top hardware is not OEM it is after market. It looks like it will have a Ramsey PTO attached to the back of the transfer case. The big knob to the left of the speedo looks like the control handle. A few years ago I would brought the whole thing home (I did just that with a 62) but not anymore. If you have the room to keep it out of site (helps keep the better half happy) and not moving anytime soon it nice to have parts around that are no longer available for a restore. So few of this are being restored that there is no source for most parts.

I don't recognize the eye bolts on the upper outside corners of the dash? my '67 dosen't have them. are they stock? if so, what are they for?

this thread reminds me of something from the animal kingdom,
one coyote gets wounded and the others turn on him to get their fill......:hillbilly:

canibals!

oh, by the way I could use the spare tire carrier, roll bar, front turn signals, and the hood hinges.
mmmmm, tastes good.

Not saying destin shouldn't get it but there are others who have been looking longer.

Those eyelets are for the safety straps the you across the doors. Only came on soft top models. There was a bracket available to use the straps on the hard top models.
