I don't recognize the eye bolts on the upper outside corners of the dash? my '67 dosen't have them. are they stock? if so, what are they for?

this thread reminds me of something from the animal kingdom,
one coyote gets wounded and the others turn on him to get their fill......:hillbilly:

canibals!

oh, by the way I could use the spare tire carrier, roll bar, front turn signals, and the hood hinges.
mmmmm, tastes good.

those eye bolts are for a factory soft top models safety straps. I would definitely say that it was a factory soft top.

if anyone is going back to this ride I'd like to put dibs on the eye bolts and the ignition switch:meh:, let me know, I'd also compensate for time/driving

I was not trying to be greedy, but if no one wants it, i love to have it :D

Not trying to jump in front of anyone ;)

Don't worrry destin no is accusing anyone of jumping in front of the line. Not sure what line that would be anyway. The funny part is now that it's on the internet it may be gone next time he goes looks at it. At least this thread got moved to the back waters where traffic is a lot less.

I wonder if our fearless leader know this was moved here:hhmm: It's probably time to rename the 25 forum. Something more than just early cruisers. More for those who are looking to restore to or close to original. A 64 going V8, SOA, double Tcase, custom bumpers and family roll cage this probably is the forum for it.

:D

hehe, thanks man

Did not mean to infiltrate the 25 section with my 40 ;)
I kid :D

I know its not OEM its a Kayline I need all the rails and the parts on the windsheild if its not crazy priced willing to pay $50-60

If it was in a pick yard near me and I could get a title it would be in my garage. Assuming they sell it cheap. Rust does not look that bad at all, I would love to fix that one.

For AZ this is all rusted to hell. I was given a windshield frame what I believe to be off a 64 to get a few parts. It was pretty stripped already I just finished it off. Every tiny phillips screw that held windshield wiring clamps, every tiny nut for the windshield vent came off without a problem. Not one broken off bolt anywhere. Other than the extra holes from where somebody added spot lights on the bottom and where it was cut open with a grinder to get the fixed nut plate for the windshield hinges this thing is perfect. Seems a shame to thought it in the scrap metal pile.

Be careful with I will just put it in the garage. That is how it started with me. Next thing I knew I my two car garage filled and a couple next to the garage and my DD were parked in the driveway.

Just got back from the PnP. Got the steering wheel. It is almost flawless. Not a single crack, just a scratch or two. Also got the weather strip between the cowl and windshield frame, as well as the switches. Oh and the FST mounting brackets:D. Pic's to follow shortly. Someone should go and pick up the front bib. It is in good condition!

Oh and the jump seats are still there...

what is the carb like? singel barrel in good shape?
:D

Hey MAD40er - are you anywhere near this? I'm pretty sure I could use that rear view mirror (interior) if this in fact a '65. Anyway to get someone to make a local pickup for me? (I'd compensate for the effort).

Sheez, now that I look at it more closely, there's wheels under there I'd take, roll bar, round turn signals, FD handle/lever, short running boards...yeah, and that steering wheel. Well crap, the engine as well if it runs, I'll start my 50-year aniversary frame off a bit early. (damn damn damn)

The mirror is not original. I have a 63, so you are looking for the same one that I have. And no, you can't have it:D

Turn signals are scrap. Get em from toyota or a mud vendor. FD handle and lever is definitely worth retrieving.

I could use the windshield assy and the seat brackets or the entire front seat assy's.
The windshield frame is solid for sure. I don't think I could flat rate post it though! ;)

Seats and seat frames are rusted to hell. they literally fell into two parts when I tried to get to the gas tank.

Got my tools and my PB Blaster. Anyone want to rendezvous over there early this afternoon? Does Pick 'n' Pull allow beer?

Anytime man. It will only be my third time to pilfer some parts!

The wheel is almost too nice to put on my rig...

Did you pick up the fuel pump for me? Does it have a generator? I believe by 65 the generators were gone. The rearview mirror in the 65 is different from the 64 and earlier. The one in the picture is not the original mirror. The carb is also non-stock. Rodchester maybe. Hardest part of the tail lights is missing, the cover on the back. I see in your picture of the small parts you picked up the two special bolts for the tailgate chains. Did it have the chains? PTO could be gone, I see the cable is cut just after going thru the firewall. Congrats on the steering wheel.
