Folks, Just placed a substantial ARB order with these folks on 2/4. Now they do not answer their phones or respond to emails. Suspect something is going on at the firm. Think twice before ordering from them until I get this resolved. Phone 866-613-8819.

ARB had no info on their status.

I will post up as soon as I get the parts or hear back from them. Don't want to hurt their reputation until I have the facts.

Anyone have any recent experience with these folks? Terry

Are they the ones that send out catalogs all the time (or used to)?
If so, I ordered some brake pads from them once, but shipping was outrageous. IIRC nearly $20 to ship some front pads. That was years ago.

Hopefully you didnt give them any money. FWIW there are some killer deals on ARB right now out of state (no tax)

Yah, this was one of them. Free shipping, free compressor, free air hose, no tax.

I have dealt with them before and I called ARB. They had no info on business problems. Maybe they all went racing this week.

My cc company said I would be reimbursed if they don't produce. I was mainly wanting to warn others to hold off until we see what is going on. T

What was their price compared to Slee? They have free shipping? I do not think Slee offered that.

ARB is having a promotion until April 30 for free compressor and tire kit if you buy 2 lockers. I am getting ready to buy but I am comparing prices right now.

ARB ... tire kit ....

I don't know about the current compressor (CKMA12) and inflating tires (or was that tyres...?), but they made similar claims about airing up tires with the old RDCKA compressor ... maybe in a pinch, but not on a routine basis.

Update

Spoke with Alex at Performance this morning. It appears they have been quite busy. He indicated the order is being shipped so I guess things will be OK. He appologized for the lack of response on the emails and phone.
I guess it is a two man operation.
I will post up when the stuff arrives. T

Where is PORC located? I ordered ARBs (like 5 years ago) from a company called Performance Off Road Center that I believe was located in South Carolina. They filled my order promptly with no trouble at all. Then I found a thread on Pirate where seemingly everyone was frustrated with them. And I think they closed up.

Maybe this is the same place, or a different incarnation of the same place. Might be a completely different place. Just curious.

Outside of Athens, Ga. Likely the same place.

Were their prices the best you found? I am getting ready to get air lockers and gears but looking for the best price

Thanks Terry, looking forward to hearing about your order and pics of course ;-)

Give Kurt @ Cruiser Outfitters a call. Great to deal with and is very fair with pricing.

Update - Today 2/15/10 Good News

Just received the two ARB RD132s plus the CKMA12 Compressor. Air hose in coming by mail.
It appears PORC does deliver as advertised, but you may have difficulty communicating with them in the process. Great price so I guess it was worth the worry. :)

When I ordered from them they had the best price I could find. Since then, I think I would order from Mark at Metal Tech or Kurt at Cruiser Outfitters. I guess, in my old age, I've come to appreciate good customer service and better involvement in the Cruiser community more than just the lowest price.

Glad it worked out for you,

Luke

X2, Kurt goes way out of his way to support Cruiser events, is very active in keeping trails open and shares his extensive tech knowledge, so gets my biz whenever possible.

Certainly good points. Frankly, the hassle and worry was not worth the savings.

I too think it is best to support good operations that support the sport. t

X2 for Kurt

he is currently taking stuff back he sent me that's the wrong size - no talk of restocking fees :bounce:
