Mauricio (spallet on MUD) came over and helped me finish up the welding and grinding.

I'll be cleaning up the metal tomorrow and will shoot some primer.

So what did you decide on the side tubes? UncleBen gave me a really good idea on how to finish mine off. I'm going to go back and cut the sides back to match the wheel well and then do a 45 degree angle cut on the tube. So the tubing will sweep back towards the rear. I never thought about it much before but he said that how it sticks out it could get caught on something. Angling it back would solve that. Unfortunately my 100 is in Wyoming and I'm in Idaho so it isn't getting the final touches on it yet. If I'd quit taking all these trips I could get it finished.

Nice work Broham!

David, if you prime it, then you'll have to blast that stuff off before powder-coating and the price goes up.

Well, I'm not sure if I'm going to powder coat it or not. I just want to get it ready for this weekend's trip.

Eric, I'm not sure if I'm going to install the side tubing. I kinda like the way it looks with out them.

I think it would need to be blasted prior to powdercoating no matter what. There was a ton of mill scale on mine and that wouldn't give it a long term powdercoat job without flaking.

Done...for now.

Well, I painted the bumper with my Harbor Freight HVLP turbine setup. Came out pretty good. I used Rustoleum thinned out with acetone.

You should paint the lower part of the body that is visible through the bumper. Would look good with that area black.

Yeah, I was thinking of that as well. I need to do the spare tire bracket mod to see if I can tuck it in some more. I think in the long run, I might buy the spare tire kit from Luke. But I'm happy with it so far.

Looking good dude. No tubes for you either. I don't know how I could fit them on mine. Grab some shackles on etrailer.com. $30 for the pair is a pretty good deal.

Driving north on the Overseas Highway on Wednesday in Tavernier, a guy was yelling out his window telling me how much he liked the bumper. Overall, I am very happy with it.

Love the wings and reco points!

That's a hot set-up! Nice job!

What roof rack is that bro?

Thanks Mac. The rack is a Tradesman oval rack (originally on an 80) with African Outback 100 series rails and mounting feet.
