How much do you think the bumpers weighs without any swing-outs?.. Just the bumper by itself?

I thought I'd update my bumper build up with new pictures. I finished the swing-outs and am going to start on the actual tire holder and maybe a bike rack.

Looking good! I need to finish mine soon.

Looks nice with the swing outs..with out it, it was kind of naked ;o))

Question though...why didn't you use two locks for the two arms....now as soon as you unlock them, do both the arms swung out?

There are two high pressure struts that keep it shut in an over-center configuration until you start to open it.

How come yours has the logo? I didn't get that with mine. Did you paint the inside of your bumper or just the outside?

He was out when we got our kits and shipped it when he sent the spindle kit. I have a cheap Harbor Freight HVLP gun that I used to paint the bumper. I painted the inside and out.

Just want to update this thread. I finished the tire carrier mount and used a hitch tube to support the tire. This allows me to use a modified Thule rack to carry my bike.

I really like the idea of using a hitch tube for the tire mount. I like using the tray bike racks. Do you think one bike would clear the tire if the bumper had a hitch mount right below the swing-out release lever?

Here is what I have right now (sorry about the bike bike being in the way but it is the only online pic I can find right now)

Dave,

I really like how your 100 is coming along.

However...

As the future owner of this truck, I'd really appreciate you running these mods by me before making them.

Thanks!

Just an update on Penny. I mounted 35" Cooper STT's and finished off my basket that's mounted on my 4x4 Labs rear bumper.

Looks great!....Now are you ever going to answer my question from a few posts up?

LOL! Sorry about that. I use a hitch cargo rack all the time and to make that work, I have a hitch tube extension that also lets me pivot the hitch rack up. Looks like the picture below.

That should give you enough clearance for your rack.
