I had my unichip installed today at a Porsche shop and it pretty much took care of my detonation problems. The most amazing thing besides having a Landcruiser at a Porsche shop is that I met the person who designed the TRD/Kazuma supercharger in the flesh, he happens to be racer and Porsche racing team engineer, he looked under the hood and told me that he design it and sold it to TRD. TRD test drove the prototype cruiser vehicle and said we must have it!! The original design had a intercooler and 7th injector setup which they changed to cut the cost (argggg!!) he mentions that it put out over 400 HP and it cooled the temperature in the chamber by 80 degrees.
Great to hear you guys have a shop in your area who can fit and tune the cruiser for a Unichip.
Now your detonation problem is fixed, how is the torque, and power with the unichip fitted?
Given the 95 on injectors flow enough fuel for the safari turbo, I cant see why a 7th injector would be needed, but the unichip has 2 outputs I think as well as the inputs which may be able to be used, if using a pre 95 engine set up with unichip, 95 on should be fine with factory injectors,a nd maybe a wee bit more fuel pressure
The 7th injector could be run with a microfueller, or from boost pressure, and throttle position, and the water/meth injection definately has to go between intercooler and engine, otherwise it will seperate in the intercooler, and end up a puddle in the bottom which will one day run into the engine on a hill.Ideally the injector should be in a high flow area, pushing toward the intake manifold where it has time to mix fully with the air charge.
I would run a pressure container with a hose from boost to it and a one way valve, so when max boost is made it uses the 6psi or what ever to push the meth/water down the hose and through the mist nozzle.
