Hey guys, a searched a bit, but had no luck in finding a part # for a pulley the correct size to fit over my saginaw pump. Any one got one handy?

I found this
Per Bill’s suggestion, I used a machine pulley that is a little smaller in diameter so the RPM on the pump increases a little. These are Martins Parts. Pulley- 1-B-50-SDS, and Bushing- SDS ¾. I bought these from Orion Manufacturing. The contact is Ladis at 1-908-558-1600.

but i need a number that will work in a regular part store like advance auto.

Badass, you are not going to find that pulley or bushing at a auto parts store. You can buy them from Grainger or another industrial supplier. If you want the narrow belt stock type pulley you can probably get a Dorman part at the parts store.

If you want go to Grainger the part numbers are 3X586 & 3X573

Also, do you have a keyed shaft or a 3/4" non keyed? The bushing and pulley only work with the 3/4" non keyed shaft.

Just t explain better, the narrow pulleys are in case you're not running the stock engine.

I've got a SBC and was able to get the guy at Discount Auto to search for me a dorman pulley for narrow belts. All he could find was a double pulley but it works fine.

How about a keyed shaft? I know MAF has theirs.
Any other suggestions?

Yup, call Lance at Iron Pig off-road...he knows what you need (you gotta give him your shaft size...) and probably has it in stock.
Worked for me.

I'll be in VA next week. I may just go and see him. Thanks

I used a spectre PART # 44853 I ended getting mine at advance auto parts store...they had to order it, but it was less than $20 and worked great! You can get them off ebay for less tahn $10 usually...

here's one on ebay for $6.50 eBay Motors: SPECTRE CHROME CHEVY /GM POWER STEERING PULLEY 1 GROOVE (item 110352709894 end time Feb-19-09 17:10:29 PST)

Because you have a regular application for your regular aftermarket power steering conversion, right?

The reason Bill provides that specific information sean is for those who want to use the OEM, wide width belt, instead of trying to use a narrow belt on the wide pulley, or vise-versa.

In all of your searching/reading you did not find any reference to a Volvo pulley/Saginaw power steering pump combination?

:meh:

That's great but as Poser points out, this looks to be a narrow pulley.

And, just FYI, the mic says that the keyed shaft is .625" on the Saginaw pump I happen to be running. which is 5/8.
