I'm probably about a year away from wanting one, but after a lengthy rebuild process, when I want one, I won't want to wait another year to get one. On top of that the ability to drive down and pick it up - worth some extra cost.
Paki soft top demand question

I didn't expect perfection.
What I did expect was a top without paint and grease on it and windows that weren't embossed by the zippers, and I did expect a RHD windshield frame that I ordered instead of the LHD frame I received, and I did expect a response from Eshan when I pointed these problems out to him.
Low volume, high volume, hand-made, machine-made - it doesn't matter. If the company is not willing to stand behind their products and correct their mistakes they're running themselves out of business.
To keep this thread on topic: I would have appreciated a US based distributor/middleman to insure we got what we paid for and be available for recourse if we didn't.
So whats the deal here??
This top is totally different from the first one....
The quality and workmanship are far better than the first....
The zippers, windows, material and metal hardware are superior...
I'm very happy with the top just need to remove the ink markings...
I'll post up a couple of pics later........
So why didn't I get this top to start with?
You really have no idea how fast the first top just fell apart.....

I told you, new german thread, new YKK zippers, better rings, better quality control. The pen marks will fade with time. Not that I had anything to do with it, but I'm glad you're finally happy!

Are we looking at these tops as first and second generation makes?......

Upset about making a profit??? What do people think this is, charity work? Sure, forums are about helping each other our and sharing each others passion for the LC's, but anyone who would be upset about a person providing a product and service for a fee that generates a proft should just quit their job because that is what we all do on a daily basis.
I would love a Paki top and I am willing to spend good money for one. What I am not willing to do is send $1K+ to some guy a half a world away and hoping that my product arrives (as ordered and not damaged) in less than a year. There is obviously plenty of people who have been willing to do so, which tells me there is a decent little market for this for people to take that type of risk and wait that long. If you have a reputable company who makes ordering easy, sells a quality product, ships in a timely manner, and provides good customer support then I think it would do well
I would like to buy another top.
Alex, your a top notch guy, and it was a pleasure doing business with you. So when you have an inventory post up because I would like another Top. I don't need the bows.

I've almost ordered a top many times, but the wait and distance was the deal killer each time. A US distributor would make a huge difference to me.

Thats exactly it - I watched several group orders take shape and happen, thinking it'll take too long to wait...
...then the orders were in, and I had still done nothing to get a top.
So I went in on the last one w/SouthBoston.. and low and behold, now I have one.
But if you'd rather just wait.....
I need top, bows, everything! It's 65 degrees today and would like to go for a drive considering there was 8 inches of sow 2 days ago...
I gotta tell ya, After reading the latest change in current events I'd be up for one. Anyway I can change my vote in the poll?
for a 1976,how much with the bows ? with all the hard ware to installed?

So you will get your bulk order before mine and I've waiting over a year for my two tops and you'll have the different top sizes for the different model FJ, BJ, HJ. Dream on and I hope the best for you, but I want my tops and the other peoples back order tops first, Ehsan knows the list of people waiting. He is doing his best with the labor problems over there, but he must clean up his order list before jumping on with someone else making a big a bulk order. A lot of people are waiting. You popping up like you’re here to save the day is sort of silly. Do you think you can ride in and just solve this problem logistically and dynamically? Hate to be a “Dream Reaper”

Labor problems? I thought those folks were hard up for work, or is this a union thing?
I think that we should expect some tweaking to be done on any bulk order but from what I can tell that happens now. I know I would love a top and bows and if when I'm ready to pull the trigger and order I only had to wait a few weeks rather than six months to a year then I'm all for it and I have no problem with a profit being made by a US distributor or by Ehsan. I think this would be a valuable service to our community.

It would be valuable service to our community, but Ehan is in the process of getting his house in order. I think it would be best to clean the up back orders first. than do the new bulk orders
