Freshly acquired '04 Hundy. Original owner had a slight run-in with a tree branch. There's no paint damage, but an obvious dent. Anybody know enough about paint less dent removal to to give me some advice in whether this would be worth pursuing. How hard is it to remove the interior panel to access the back side? Is it even possible to access the backside of the c-pillar?

I have had many dents pulled I would take it to a good PDR guy and let him go at it. It will take him some work but he could make it look a lot better. you might see it a little, but it just depends how stretched the metal might be. Might cost a 60 to 100 bucks

Yeah, It's not lost on me that this may well be the first dent on many, but given its the only one now, I'm inclined to try to fix it.

I'll look for a dent removal guy who also removes pin striping.

Thanks.

These trucks are so much more fun when you can stop worrying about dents :)

I'd leave it, but have seen the PDR guys do some amazing things

I m one who try's to keep my cruisers repaired but its never ending. Is it a trail rig or street car . Will you make money with it or just have fun ? You decide. But if your clients will see it it, it needs fixing. Mike

Dent is to big and to close to the window. Looks pretty deep too, paint will most likely crack. I use Dent Wizard all the time for my customers. Sorry it's the bodyshop for that one. Good news is it's on a small panel with curved body parts around it very little tint and blend needed.

A good PDR guy should be able to remove that dent.....

These are luxury vehicles. Worth keeping up. I get mine off road too but I like to keep it vey nice too. Some can let them go. And I commend that ability I guess in too up tight. So I have a close relationship with my pdr guy. He is also a Landcruiser collector. He actually probably got me into them

I can live with the dent, but like I said, it's the only one so fixing it means I'm back to a flawless Hundy. How can I resist? At this point, I've yet to start the build, but that will come in the next few months. Previous owner just put on a new set of Bridgestone Dueler's on, and it's going to be a shame to replace them, but a set of 33" BFG's are a must. Oh well, that's what eBay/Craigslist is for.

I'll give you an update on what the PDT guy says. If I'm into paintwork, it's a non starter. I'll live with it as is.

I agree. From the pic it looks creased and stretched which will keep it from being a candidate for pdr.

That being said, I would definitely go see if a pdr shop can fix it. If somehow it can be fixed for $100 without paint then do it. If it is $400 and aftermarket paint, I would live with it.

I would ask: "What's the easiest way to put a matching dent on the other side?"

Not having much experience with PDR but some with sheet metal I would say it looks tough as it's so close to the window frame which will have multiple creases. The interior is easily removed but I'm not sure if that area is single or double walled.

Good luck with it.
