I'm thinking I don't like the paint protection film I had put on a few years ago. It's too noticeable, It annoys me, and I'm thinking of removing it.

Anyone have any experience removing an Xpel or other clearbra type product?
Any pitfalls here?
Recommendations?

Thanks for your time.

Ryan

A heat gun should do the trick and Goo Gone to remove any leftover adhesive.

I hope yours comes up in bigger chunks than 2 sq mm at a time. This is gonna take forever...

I second this.

We remove ppf at our shop on the regular. Xpel is one of the brands of film we offer. The trick is to not overheat it, you just need it warm/hot, BUT not too hot to the touch. When you overheat the film, you make the adhesive all gooey and a big mess to remove not to mention . Just work it in small sections, if you can get a helper to heat the film while you pull on it, it will make the job much more pleasant.

There is nothing to "pull" left on mine. There is no cohesive piece larger than 1/2" square... :(
