Replacing upper windscreen moulding without windscreen removal?

Hi folks,

My 100 series had it's 2nd windscreen replacement since I've owned it after 1 year and after the 2nd was installed I noticed the top moulding is quite perished and soft, and is no longer sitting against the body firmly and sealing like it should.

Additionally, some rust has reappeared so I'd like to sort it out properly.

I REAAAAAALLLY don't want to have to remove the side mouldings as they have been fitted to be watertight (all the rivet holes were massively oversized and had to have a mixture of sealant and larger rivets).

I think it's possible to remove this top moulding with everything else still in situ, but would welcome anyone's views if they've done this before, before I remove the old one and find it's not possible to fit the new one.

no expert here but im pretty sure you have to remove the entire windshield to replace that upper molding.

I think the glass sits on top of part of that top moulding.

tap it by hand, youd think there'd be a SST for that maybe.

The diagram @hoser posted gives me some mild hope (assuming it's not caked in adhesive) that it might be doable, that being said, getting the new one in might be a bigger challenge.

The moulding up the sides of the screen aren't stuck down super well where it bridges the screen and the roof, so I may look to gently lift this area to help the cause before sticking them back down properly.

This truck had the same old botched windscreen install and was missing moulding and all sorts when I bought it. It then had another failed install, so this is my 2nd screen in 2 years of ownership, I really don't want to have to remove it again
