I'm stuck guys. I'm trying to replace my alternator on my 99 LC. I have my power steering pump and alternator unbolted. I've disconnected the radiator hose from the thermostat housing and I cannot get the alternator out the top. I tried unbolting the fan clutch but it and the fan won't come off. I don't have enough room at the bottom without disconnecting other hoses that I probably don't have fluid for. What an i missing?

When I did mine, I took it out from bottom, didn't have to remove P/S or trans cooler lines but probably have to remove it from mounting locations. I went to UNR! Bought my car in Reno and 4Runner in SLT!

I disconnected some hardline from a bracket, zip tied them back a few inches and was able to get the old one our. Thanks

I did mine in the fall last year and while a giant pain; I didn't remove any hoses nor had to. Just wiggle and turn it until it can come out smoothly.
This. It’s not obvious or easy to get out but it will. Don’t be too afraid of really squeezing it through.

Whwn I did mine (98 lx) I HAD to remove the lower rad hose to get mine out. As soon as I removed it it took 2 minutes to wiggle it out.

I took off the bracket for two small hardline and zip tied them out of the way. They really made this unnecessarily difficult, longest alternator replacement I've ever done.

Just take the power steering pump out. That what i ended up doing after trying to pull it out from the bottom

I think I just pulled the PS pulley - not the whole pump. But, with enough study and screwing around, you can drop the alternator out the bottom, but it's very tight all around and you don't want to chip off a piece of the lower radiator hose connection point.
