PM sent. You never know. Maybe we can work something out.

Sincity100s rig. Trail proven. Not rust turds but you're gonna want new cv's and shocks. BUT THE WHEELS ARE BLACK ALREADY!

Just looked him up. His ride was/is tight! That is about 90% inline with my build plans. Is he really putting this on the market?

If it is going to be a mall cruiser then get the color you want. If you are going to run it then white will show way less wear and tear. I love my River Rock Mica...... It was the only color I would think about when I got one. My next one in 20 years if/when I retire this one would be white... The white has really grown on me. You have to understand that every pinstripe and scratch will show on the darker color. Then you have to polish it religiously to keep it looking great!

Also it is your car do what feels right....

I would rather polish religiously and have that color than have white. I get what you are saying but from the minute I saw riverock mica, I knew I had to have it. When I build a trail toy with "UN" stenciled on the sides and a machine gun turrent welded to the top I will enjoy the white paint scheme :-)

I won't be running this on tight trails for a while as it is my DD and I have to take clients out to lunch in it. Most I do is run power line trails and take it camping/mountain biking where it sees fire roads and the like. I'd like to get the color I have always wanted for the LC and enjoy it for a year or so until I get another DD. Then I can pinstripe the hell out of it!

The wrap jobs I have seen just aren't clean enough to be a DD. Especially over badging. I would consider it if this was just my weekend toy but its not. Plus, I just looked it up and it costs $2-3K. For that type of money, I would prefer my favorite color applied correctly to my favorite vehicle.

Fair enough. Didn't know about the client outings.
How about listing it on Craig's list, AutoTrader etc. for a straight swap, or trade ± a little cash? White is a very desirable color, especially with soccer moms. You may get a nice trade, albeit mayby with some snacks stuck in the back seats. ;-)

Question: Is that Riverrock Mica color the kind of a dark gray with a green hue to it?
Is it the color of shottsuzj rig?
If so, we have 2 1998 LC's that color.

I would go with the wrap.

What kind of a look/resale do you have when it starts to dry-rot and peel?

If you're really building it to wheel it (lift, diff, drop, etc) then paint should not be a concern. Paint is then just a rattle can of a durable coating that keeps any bare metal from corroding, nothing more. White and Black are cheap at wallmart and easy to match!

If you insist that this is all just for looks then do whatever fits your taste and budget... If looks are important I think you would be better off with a different truck vs. a respray. Think of under hood and door jams in white... or a paint bill that will shock you!

just my 2c
