Thanks. I wish. I've barely driven it and I've had it for about 4 years now. :(
I did have time to paint the rear half of the frame, and get get a bunch of the bed dings and such smoothed out. Finally got the brakes and exhaust taken care of....just need to replace that transfercase seal and I'll be out riding again.
The big problem is thinning the herd, it takes a long time to keep so many running. I sold one a few months ago, one more to go.

Alright. I was planning on waiting until I was able to get the rig out of the garage, but today was the first day that I was able to test fit the 16" wheels and I just felt the need to share.

Did you put the braces on the headache rack or were they there when you got it? It looks good, is the paint original? And last question , why 16" wheels?

No, the brackets were on it when I got it. I've been going back and forth on whether I want to keep them on or cut them off.

No, it has been re-painted. The original color is red. Haven't seen any mustard LPBs.

No special reason on the 16" wheels. I just thought it would be more convenient in the long run to have the same size wheels as my 80 and 100-series. Plus, I had these 275 BFGs sitting around already.

sweet. Looks pretty clean.

I'd cut the braces off.

I love the mustard color.

I understand on the wheels. I thought about using 80 series wheels on my pick-up, but I have a ton of 15" wheels laying around.

BTW, go to Home Depot and buy some Hard Hat Rustoleum Grey bomb cans and paint those white wheels.

Cutting the braces off has been added to bottom of my "long list".

Paint the wheels!!! They came raw from U.S. Wheels and I just had them powder coated white. This was the decision that came down from high command. The choices were black or white, and the high commander choose white (to coordinate with the white top and bezel).

Since the wheels were a gift from her, she had input on the color.

Oops! I guess you're stuck with white then. Why was OEM gray not an option?

BTW, I just figured out that you're not a "Madam", Michael-Adams.

those doors did actaully show up on a few US 83 fj40's, some of the parts are even in stock in the US, if not Marv can prolly get what you need.

Yes US doors will fit

I'll trade ya a nice set of US doors for yours :)

Scoot,

Anyone know where to get replacement glass, channels and felts for the import newer style doors? I would assume that the door panels are the same.

Or know if the newer US doors would fit on my rig?

Pimp,

Sorry just bought a nice set of US doors. Because I am so anal about wanting to keep this stock, I just can't get rid of the original doors even though I won't use them. Thanks for the offer!

Here's mine, in my own re-creation of the Toyota ad from the 1960s. My neighbor Bruce was helpful enough to dress up for the role.....

No kidding. I have two for the rear, but need the fronts with the cutouts. I had a line on some at a shop, then the guy hauled off the 40 and crushed it. :( I shouldn't have dickered on the price of it....that thing had all the parts I needed for mine.

thats very cool :)

Yes, WE NEED OLD HUBCAPS - the beater set of 5 old hubcaps on eBay just went for $150 and the fronts look like they'd been cut out with a dull hatchet.

I've been searching for old 'cruiser caps in the Springs for 15 years - not even the grungiest old hubcap and scrap shop has had any.

StanCruiserMan,

That is a BEAUTIFUL rig. Do you have the orginal jack, tool kit, etc behind the seat? If so, then I would love to see a picture of how things are supposed to be set up on a stock rig.

Sorry, I am separated from my truck right now. I am waiting for its 25th birthday to bring it over. I wouldn’t mind going back to live with it there either. I only have one pic of behind the seats and its the wrong side.

In the photo I am sorry to say that the large crank is in the wrong way. The handle end should be clipped into the bottom clip.
The gif shows what holds the tool kit and jack in place from what I remember. The jack by a thin-ish flattened metal rod formed to fit around the jack and you crank the jack up a little to lock it in place. The tool kit is held in by rubber cord like in the back of a 62.
