Anyone seen or tried out one of these? Saw it on Facebook. I don't know if I like the idea of covering up my sunroof panel, although also I pretty much never use it. So probably shouldn't really be a concern.

I have one in my 100 series and I like it a lot. When I have my roof top tent mounted it covers the sunroof anyway.

It was a great location to mount my Starlink router.

A large, heavy, metal object over my head (and my passenger’s head) that isn’t solidly mounted, wasn’t designed to be there, and adds stuff that isn’t needed and will likely cause injury in a crash and reduces headroom and increases distraction? Nah, I’m good!

This right here.

While yes I fully appreciate the use of space and the application, I’d have to agree with the critics above.

While I appreciate the creativity, as echoed previously there's not a chance I'd run this thing with the engine on/moving.

Am I the only one who doesn’t understand why we need MOlLe panels everywhere?

What year 100 do you have? I have an 06, and the “mounting” inside the liner won’t hold the weight of the brackets/panel.

No. I’m right there with ya. For each is own of course, but I don’t get it either man. I want my stuff tucked away, secured, and rattle free.

I don’t want it displayed and out in the open for prying eyes and sticky hands.

Maybe it adds 3 cool guy points when you go to Overland Expo and show off all your gear?

🤷🏻‍♂️

I have a 05. I will try and remember to take a picture at lunch. From what I recall, it doesn't install as cleanly on the +05. The headline bulges where it mounts to the moonroof.

I only have the starlink router and weboost transmitter mounted on it. It's been solid for the 2 years so far.

I need retake the pictures once I have my wifes help. It’s hard to take a photo how it interfaces with one hand while trying to move the headliner down. It is jammed into a metal lip of the moonroof. Unfortunately there is a gap or bulge in headliner.

You can’t install it like in ORS video as the lip around the moonroof in the 05+ changed in design and won’t support the weight (it just liner and doesn’t have the metal lip protruding as far) per my speculation.
