I'm thinking about power steps for my 80. The motorized ones that lower automatically with the doors. Either a complete running board style, or just a single step like this.

Amp is one if the larger players, but does not list one by application for the FJ80. Which vehicle would be the closest?

I'm not sure who makes the one icon installed. Would anyone know?

Anyone have them installed?

There is a company that makes a slider with power step for jeeps , prob would have to mod the attach points. Length might work not sure?

Maybe try the 200 series forum

Jokes aside, I'd guess there's more likelihood of these being made for a 200.
Possibly Aussie options?

A search over there might give you a breadcrumb or two to follow

I think I see why they aren't offered for the 80 🤣

The rear portion of the frame flares out too wide, and there's no room for the mechanism. This is as far rearward as it will go.

I'm concerned at the amount of overhang at that rear door.

This option is getting back to my original thoughts.

Use the rock rails that were originally on the truck, and incorporate the motorized step.

Final installation on the step will allow for the original Amp PowerstepXL rock rails for mall crawling with the jeeps.

Or...

The real rock sliders for keeping up with the yota buggies. 🤣

I mean... if you ever do wind up using that rock slider, you'll have to walk back up the trail and pick up the pieces of the step. Still, I do prefer the look and I'd rather have the real slider if I ever needed it.
Yea, I will add a little bit more protection on the leading edge, at least, but you are on track. 👍

Makes me think... There's probably a market for a durable rock slider with an integrated retractable step that is recessed enough to avoid most damage and can be replaced when it does take a hit.

The "37s look small now..." crowd might appreciate it as they get a little older.
