The stock LX ones were great...i miss them. I may sell my IPF foglights...and put HID projector housings in :D ....................of course thats a dream since those cost over 1000 dollars!

The IPFs arent bad, I sure like having them over the two weeks I didnt have them, one of those weeks not even having a bumper! heh

I'm running some cheap Hella Optilux 4" lights in mine. I swapped out the 35w bulbs for 55w bulbs and they are working very nicely. These have a spring adjustment bolt on them to adjust them up and down. It is sort of a neat feature.

PIAAs are nice lights but they are spendy. I've got a cheap set of the Costco 968 IPFs and they work pretty well. I like them better than the Pro Comp Hella rip offs I have. But neither are as good as the Hella Rallye 3000s I had on my first 80 or even the Maxtell 9"ers I had on my last 80 or the Bosch 8.75" Rallye lights I had on my 60. Granted all of those had huge reflectors compared to all of the lights I'm running on the 100. I installed a set of the IPF HID lights on a Jeep and wow those are some amazing lights. This particular jeep had 10 auxillary forward facing lights. 8 IPF 968s with 100 watt bulbs and then the pair of HIDs. The HIDs outshined all of the 968s combined.

I guess my point is that when you are dealing with at 3.5-4" reflector you can't expect huge benefits if you've become accustom to big lights.

Very true. Thanks gineric.

Just picked up a pair of the new PIAA 520 atp's and those are some powerful lights with a great pattern!

First time I called ARB they told me the 100 Sahara Bar Fog Kit came with PIAA lights - called again they said IPF this time. When I talked to my local ARB dealer Cruiser Outfitters - they told me IPF. I bet they simply misspoke when they told me PIAA the first time.

I just can't bring myself to fork over another $350 on top of the approximately $1200 I paid for the Sahara Bar. I piggy backed on an order of $12 buck OEM pigtails - Thanks Trunk Monkey - and picked up a pair of 55 watt Hella Optilux 2500 4 inch light kit online for $58 bucks. I'll fab my own mount and for $70 bucks total I have lights in the Sahara bumper and able to use the stock switch on the stick.

A savings over $250 bucks - don't tell my wife - she will have it spent before I finish telling her. I'm saving it for one of Mr. Slee's rear bumpers.

Yes - not the high quality IPF lights - but my factory fogs sucked ass anyway- the Optilux put out more light.

I'll post up picks of my fab and install when the lights arrive.

I remember ARB stating that the bumpers used PIAA lamps, but that was a good while back. Might have been PIAA at first, then changed to IPF.

The 100 series lights come with an elaborate bracket kit that allows all kinds of adjustment using screws and it has a spring setup to stop vibrations I believe.

Yes. The adjustments make it very easy to aim the lamps, and the screws are spring-loaded to cushion vibrations. And as Loud said, the pattern is actually pretty nice. Good cutoff (as you can see in his video) and a nice wide pattern. In this case you sort of get what you pay for.

BTW (shameless plug) I'm selling my bumper which has the IPF foglight kit, check the Classifieds...
