Opinions on this exhaust work

Beyond the obvious weld problems and cobbled-together appearance of the thing, there is one important problem that really demanded correction:

The upper link and the third member would have unquestionably contacted the exhaust well before the rear axle hit the bump stops. I crawled around under there yesterday with a tape measure and verified this. This proved to be the definitive point that the shop actually screwed up my truck, and it's not just me being picky.

And for the record, @45Kevin ,
This is NOT what I asked for. The shop was told specifically to leave the OEM pipe over the axle in place. This was a case of too much "can-do, git 'er done" attitude by a guy who lacked the forethought to really consider the consequences of his actions. And even though I haven't paid them a penny yet, it's still not worth even that.

I am out on that, even if it does clear. It would drive me CRAZY knowing that mess was under my truck. I have had great custom exhaust work done on some of my car, and some not so great. The one thing I have learned from that is that if I can't get it done in a cat back style system that is designed for the particular vehicle and application, I am not willing to risk the hack job. Good luck. I hope they can get it right for you.

Much better.

Now that's what it's supposed to look like. Good job by someone.

Coincidentally, the shop that did the work opted to get the center in / offset out configured muffler before even starting the pipe work. This is an important detail for those looking at a muffler replacement.
Also interesting, they got the 2.5" version. I think they might have done this to insert and sleeve the 2.25" pipe rather than butt it(?)
I'm also happy that they used all of the factory hangers. The hack job used 2 out of 4.

Who ended up doing the clean work Ryan? I'm always on the hunt for a good exhaust shop. That Meineke on State in SLC get's rave reviews. I had a great place here in Sandy but they closed down last month :(

I can personally recommend Fritz at the Meineke on State street. I've had two complete exhaust systems built and they were awesome. Great guy and really talented.

I spoke to Fritz at Meineke on @cruiseroutfit 's recommendation, but the shop that did the original unsatisfactory work took it to the Master Muffler on 700E in Sandy to get things put right. That's who did the clean work.

Thanks for sharing @Hayes - replacing the resonator is next on my list after I get the master cylinder fixed.

I'm glad to see you got this sorted out Ryan. I'm also happy to hear that Master Muffler did you a solid. Ive been taking my stuff there for years for the bits that I couldn't or wouldn't do myself and they have always been good to me. They just put a new Fowmaster on my 100 earlier this month.
