Looking to get my first LX 100, its a 2006 with 18k miles on it. As far as I can tell its been in the mountain west, I have some undercarriage pics from the listing and planning to go see it later today its about a hour or so away from me, but I would like y'alls opinion on the rust, to my inexperienced self it looks to mostly be just surface rust, also, the muffler looks really bad but the seller said it was replaced last week and had not updated the pictures in the listing. Body and interior look to be in great shape. What say you? And thank you,

That's not too bad. But no way and 18K miles 2006. looks like 180K or 218K miles, that undercarriage not regular washed after drives on winter treated roads.

It's not clean but it's not too bad, what are they asking?

17k, not paying that, but ill see what I can talk him down to.
I bought a completely rust free vehicle for that price, despite a little more mileage. With rust, i'd say 15K is a something i'd consider for this

Ah man the infamous how much rust question. Those of us from the rusty states will say "Hey pal that's pretty clean! Wire wheel and fluid film twice a year and you'll be good" and guys from like Arizona or something will be like "Ewwww its literally falling apart run away". For real though that doesn't look awful to me. Good luck

If your happy with the rest of it, I wouldn't be concerned. I'm very picky on rust, and that's all light surface. Those of us in the rust belt know real rot.
An 06 with 180k for $17k isn't bad if the rest of the LX is clean.

That’s clean dude. Don’t even think about it and buy it. I have several 100% rust free cars as well as a few with some rust and believe me it doesn’t make a damn bit of a difference in the real world on a vehicle you’ll off-road and use in all weather. If it was a garage queen Porsche it’s a different story but this is a 4X4 lol. After my first trail ride I realized you can kiss your clean undercarriage goodbye.

No frame rail images, no floor pan images, no front radiator support images... really difficult to offer a viable opinion.
Based on what little is shown, those areas will clean up with a good amount of elbow grease and effort. If the rest of the truck is in similar condition, go for it!!!

Does the truck have the running boards on it? Behind the back of those is where youll want to look. And lay under with a flashlight and check upward from rear wheel well. Easier to see rust at night.

If you buy and drive in salt you might have rodent/animal concerns in 12-25 years.
